Introduction time! This happens a few days prior to this series of fourth wall breaking comics:



It's been two years since Singe was first introduced to his cousin's friends, Mako, the orca sea pony and Margarite Mix, the sassy bartender. Every year around the same time, the carnival comes back to town and so Singe makes it a habit to spend time with his beloved cousin and her crazy friends.

On his way to visit Margarite's bar, he spies from the distance Mako helping Margarite bring in boxes of new drinks into the storage room. When Singe makes his way closer his spots Bubble Lee, sitting at the bar and some asshole is trying to hit on Bubble while Mako is distracted. Singe is about to go over and tell him to back off, when he sees a brown and orange pegasus from behind, come up and get between Bubble and the guy. They appear to only be talking when the aggressive flirt goes to push the mystery pegaus to the side. With one large chocolate brown wing, the pegasus shoves him back. With his ears folded back aggressively, he snarls something, scaring the guy off.

Bubble has a wide smile on her face and looks surprised to see the pegasus, suggesting he just got there. She goes and gives him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek, only raising more questions in Singe's head. Still having his back turned, pegasus would put his wing in front if Singe when he first heard him approach the bar. A pair of icy blue cat-slit eyes peer over his shoulder at Singe.

Bubble: *peeks over the wing* Oh, hey Singe! *pats the pegasus's shoulder* It's okay, he's just my cousin.

???: *continues to stare* ...Alright. *lowers his wing*

Singe: *raises hands defensivly* Geez, I come in peace! Though I suppose I should be thanking you for taking care of that dickweed... *pinches Bubble's cheek playfully* Unfortunately I can't be around all the time to beat off perverts that try coming onto my little cousin.

Bubble: *sticks her tongue out and swats away his hand*

???: So I've noticed. But it's only right to come to her aid. Especially when my uncle's attention is needed elsewhere.

Singe: "Uncle"? You don't mean Mako?

Bubble: *nods* I forget you two probably haven't been introduced yet. This is Daniel Dasher, Mako's nephew. His family is in town for the week, visiting while on vacation.

Singe: *smirks and raises an eyebrow* Oh. Sorry, I just thought you'd be more... ummm.. aquatic?

Daniel: *ear twitches* While we have no direct blood relation, he is greatly considered as part of the family since he was adopted by my grandmother and grandfather when he was young. Though he does have a blood bond with my mother, they see each other as close brother and sister.

Singe: ..... ah... That makes sense, I guess.

Mako: *from the storage room* Is that my book worm nephew's voice I hear?? *Mako emerges out of the storage room and wraps his arms around Daniel form behind, giving him a big bear hug* Damn, you got big! How's it going, buddy?

Daniel: *winces from how tightly he was being hugged* It's good to see you too, Uncle Mako.

Bubble: *chuckles* Good timing, sweetheart. We were just talking about you.

Singe: *waves with his classic smirk* Hey~

Daniel: ... Can you please put me down now...?

Mako: *chuckles and sets down his nephew before rustling his hair* Sorry, bud. It's just a bit rare you guys come visit. *looks at Singe* So, what exactly were you saying about me this time? You trying to convince Bubble to let me go on a date with you?

Singe: You wish~ Nah, I was just trying to wrap my head around how someone as cute as that... *referencing Daniel with his hand* could be related to someone like you. *as he smiles widely*

Daniel: *stares at Singe the whole time, looking him up and down* ....

Mako: *narrows eyes, a scary grin stretched across his face* Ahahahaha, watch it, Fire Dancer.

Singe: Oh no worries, I am~ *as he glances at Daniel, just to get under Mako's skin* Speaking of "fire dancing", you guys are coming to my show tonight, right? I got a whole bunch of new stunts lined up from last year! *puffs chest out, feeling pretty proud of himself*

Mako: *smirks* Sounds like fun. I've got some repairs I gotta finish first but maybe we can make it to one of your later showings.

Daniel: *silently walks up to Singe and starts circling, checking him out* .....

Mako: *awkwardly grins* Heheh, Daniel, you think maybe your family would like to come too...?

Singe: *looks hesitantly at Daniel* Uh... yeah, you are all welcome to come if you want. If you like fire shows that is.. *he extended one of his wings for Daniel to look at, before giving a Mako a questioning look, silently asking what Daniel's deal is*

Mako: *shakes his head and shrugs*

Daniel: *look at Singe's wings before making it to Singe's front and looking him in the eyes, staring intensly* ...

Singe: *stares back, holding the gaze* .....?

Daniel: *after holding the gaze for a bit longer, he blinked and his eyes seeming more relaxed* That sounds nice. My family kind of plays with fire on a daily basis, on account of our breath.

Singe: *ears perked, head tilting to the side* Breath? I don't understand...

Daniel: *takes a step back and takes a deep breath, exhaling a purple flame* Fire breath, to be more specific.

Singe: *wide eyes* Woah! *an excited smile stretched across his face, his wings fluttering* WOAH!! That's so cool!! Wait wait, like ACTUALLY breath fire? How does that work? *his eyes scanning Daniel's body, looking for some kind of device, as if it was a magic trick*

Daniel: *arches an eyebrow and looks at Mako, as if saying "Is he serious??*

Mako: *chuckles* Daniel is part dragon, Singe. He, his sister and their mother can all breath fire.

Singe: *stares blankly, waiting for the punchline* Oh! Wait, you are serious? *rubs the back of his head, laughing* Sorry, I.. uh.. never met a dragon pony before. Hot damn, that is still pretty cool!

Mako: *laughs* You should meet my sister, it'd be more believable. But that's not the only thing Daniel can do. *patting Daniel's shoulder*

Daniel: *nods and pulls back his sleeve, before lifting his arm and breathing fire on it. The purple flames would cling to his arm but the fur wouldn't burn*

Singe: !!! *his eyes darting around, looking for something to put it out. Once he saw that no one else was freaking out, he took a few steps closer and examined the purple flame* Woah... *waves his hand over the fire, feeling the heat* That is just wicked. How... how are you doing that? Force field or something? *Glancing over at Bubble's horn*

Daniel: *shakes his head as the flame slowly began to die out* My skin and fur is fire proof. I secrete a oil that covers my body and wings. *glance at Singe's charred wings* Which, I'm sure it's something you could've used, if you don't mind me saying.

Singe: *looks back at his wings, extending them out and chuckles* Yeah, no kidding! I have to use Heptane to get that same effect... God I wish I brought some of my gear... Hey, Margarite, darling, you don't happen to have any kerosene or paraffin by chance? You know, like what you would use for hurricane lamps?

Margarite: *pokes her head out from the storage room* I don't keep that stuff here at the bar anymore, sorry hun.

Daniel: *staring at Singe's wings and walk a bit closer to look that them, gently petting the messy feathers* .....

Singe: Damn.. Oh well. I guess you'll just wait til.... ummm.. yes?

Daniel: *ear twitch* You have some feathers in here that are abstracting your good ones. *buries his muzzle in Singe's wing and start preening*

Mako: ............ *awkward smile before turning to Margarite* I need a drink please. Doesn't matter what, just gimme!

Singe: *neck plumage fluffs up, tensing slightly* Oh ummm... thank you? *his wings would give a quiver at how good it felt, his face blushing softly*

Bubble and Mako just stare, jaws dropped. Mako chugs down his drink and asks for another.

Daniel: *after a bit, he stopped to pull a few feathers out of his teeth, letting out a slight growl* Do excuse me for this, I see preening as a friendly gesture. *before moving to Singe's other wing and start preening, growling softly*

Singe: *tries to relax, smiling back at Daniel* Its okay.. I... uh.. I don't mind... I'm just not use to.. umm..

Daniel: *pulls a way to ruffle Singe's feathers a bit, a few smaller feathers clinging to his lips* I think I got them all.

Singe: *gives his wings a shake, a few loose feathers falling out* Umm.. thank you! That actually feels a lot better. You are pretty talented with that mouth of yours~

Daniel: *pulls feathers from his mouth* I find it more efficent to use my mouth when preening. *glances at Singe's neck plumage* Your neck fluff seems to have ruffled. Would you like me to get that too?

Mako: *chokes on his drink* !

Singe: *glances at Mako and smirks before looking back at Daniel* Well, I mean, if you are offering...

Daniel: *leans in and buries his muzzle into Singe's neck, giving a soft growl as he starts preening*

Mako: *FLUSTERED DOLPHIN NOISES* !!! *grabs Daniel and pulls him away* I think that's enough, Singe can get it himself!

Singe: *grins widely* What's got your fin bent out of shape? He's just being friendly, from one pegasus to another. *pets down his neck fluff, looking at Daniel* I can pay you back sometime if you want. Birds of a feather should stick together, after all~ *winks*

Mako: *glares at Singe, tightening his grip on Daniel* ....

Daniel: *winces and squirms a little* That is a.. tempting offer, though my feathers are hardly ever damaged... Uncle.. please loosen your grip, you're hurting my scar.

Mako: *ears perk and lets go* Scar?

Bubble: Scar? Are you okay? *her medical senses tingling*

Daniel: *rubs his chest* It's healed now, but it still stings at times. *before lifting his shirt and revealing a nasty scar on his chest *

Singe: *lets out a hiss* Ouch.. that looked like it hurt.

Bubble: *examines the scar, pushing the fur to the side gently* What happen?

Daniel: *ear twitch* A while back, there was a stallion who wouldn't back off Annie, not taking no for answer. I had to step in and defend her... Although, I failed to anticipate the sharp object in his hand.. it was my first failure in what i do.

Bubble: *whimpers* You really should be more careful..

Singe: *scoffs* Failure? No, stallions like that have no honor and should rot for all I am concerned... *puts a hand on Daniel's shoulder* You are a good man for standing up for your sister.

Daniel: It's what I do. As a brother, and guardian.

Singe: "Guardian"?

Daniel: *lowers his shirt* My Cutie Mark is a shield. I project my family, those close to us. *twitches his ear, pointing at Bubble* I do what I need to. Whatever the consequences may be. *His gaze would soften as he looked Singe in the eyes.* And it seems I have one more to protect now.

Mako: *eyes darting back and forth between the two of them, ear twitching* ..........

Singe: *keeps the eye contact for a moment before nodding and give Daniel's shoulder an affectionate squeeze* You are a strange one, arn't ya?

Daniel: A lot of ponies say that.

Singe: *smirks* It's not a bad thing. Definitely a good kind of strange. I like it either way. *as he shrugs*

Bubble: *glances between the two of them, a big smile on her face, her tail wagging*

Mako: *looks at Bubble and nudges her, grumbling* Stop it!

Daniel: *blinks, his neck looking like it wants to fluff* Thank you. *turns to Bubble and Mako.* As much as I'd like to stay a while longer, I must go back to the hotel. Dad must be something where I am.

Mako: *looks up from having another drink* O-oh yeah.. it was nice to see you again!

Bubble: *smiles sweetly and hugs Daniel* We'll see you again soon hopefully~ *as she gives Singe a look over Daniel's shoulder with a smile*

Singe: *fluffs up a little, not sure what the meant. coughs into his fist* Ummm... it was nice meeting you.. ummm.. Daniel was it? *extends his hand to shake*

Daniel: *turns to Singe, taking his hand and shaking it, having a firm grip* "It was nice meeting you too. And I look forward to seeing your performance later.

Singe: *grins, returning the firm handshake* I promise, it will be a performance that you will never forget! *as he winks*

Daniel: *gives a small"hmm" like it was a chuckle before letting go of Singe's hand and started walking off*

Singe: *watches Daniel walk off, a soft smile on his face. He'd look back at Bubble, Mako, and Margarite and chuckle* Cute kid.

Bubble: *huge grin on her face* That went pretty well~

Singe: *nods and smile, pulling his phone out of his pocket to check the time.* Ah.. damn, I need to get going.. I'll see you guys later! *waves and heads off*

Mako: *finishes off his drink and wave back a little* ......... Anyone else think that was a bit weird.?

Margarite: *laughs* What's with the surprised face, I thought it was cute.

Bubble: *spins around on her stool to face Margarite* I knooooow, right? They really seem to hit it off!

Mako: *look at Bubble with a twitchy ear* Didn't it look weird though?! He just started preening him!

Margarite: *takes Mako's glass with a big grin on her face* Oh calm down Fish-Face, you heard him. It was a friendly gesture. ...... Even if it looked like Singe was enjoying it more than he should've~

Bubble: *starts giggling, her hand over her mouth* Singe was never preened much growing up. His dad was never home, so he spent a lot of his time with me and my family. And... well, I'm not very good at it.

Margarite: *snickers and smirks at Mako* Well, it sure looked like Daniel was pretty thorough about it~

Bubble: *glances at the feathers on the ground and nods* I'm just glad Daniel is opening up with other ponies... I had to pretty much pull teeth to get Daniel to come be social with me and my friends that last semester of college. Although the school's library was a pretty good bribe.

Mako: *scratches the back of his head* Lady's been telling me he's been trying his best, though he's not getting anywhere.. He still just has the two mare friends back in Ponyville... *ear twitches and scrunches up his muzzle* And even though that was all... weird to watch, I guess he finally made a new friend... Even if that friend is a ass."

Bubble: *smacks Mako's arm gently* Oh be nice. Singe wasn't all that bad this time around.

Mako: Kind of hard to believe that when he's flirting with my nephew. I know it's a joke, but Daniel takes things so literal...

Bubble: *shrugs* I wouldn't say it was flirting....

Margarite: *sips her glass of water* Does it really matter, he was just poking fun.

Mako: *turn to Margarite, his ears flat* Yeah, just to piss me off, from the looks of it.

Margarite: *huffs, setting her glass down* Hey, how about pulling that stick out of your ass for once and not assume the worst?

Bubble: *snickers, rubbing Mako's back* I don't think Singe has any malicious intents. If anything, I think he's excited to find someone with common interests.

Mako: *looks at Bubble and lets out a sigh* Yeah.. I guess.. *smiles softly and kisses Bubble's cheek*

Bubble: *nuzzles him gently, kissing the end of his nose* Don't worry so much, you'll give yourself gray hair *giggled softly* old man~

Mako: *chuckles, giving her a playfully push* I just can't help it when it comes to Daniel and Annie.

Bubble: *rolls her eyes* Daniel has grown and matured so much since I last saw him, I'm sure he will be fine..

Mako: *looks off in the direction Daniel walked off and think for a few minutes...* I hope so.

Bubble: *glances between the two of them, a big smile on her face, her tail wagging*

Mako: *looks at Bubble and nudges her, grumbling* Stop it!

Daniel: *blinks, his neck looking like it wants to fluff* Thank you. *turns to Bubble and Mako.* As much as I'd like to stay a while longer, I must go back to the hotel. Dad must be something where I am.

Mako: *looks up from having another drink* O-oh yeah.. it was nice to see you again!

Bubble: *smiles sweetly and hugs Daniel* We'll see you again soon hopefully~ *as she gives Singe a look over Daniel's shoulder with a smile*

Singe: *fluffs up a little, not sure what the meant. coughs into his fist* Ummm... it was nice meeting you.. ummm.. Daniel was it? *extends his hand to shake*

Daniel: *turns to Singe, taking his hand and shaking it, having a firm grip* "It was nice meeting you too. And I look forward to seeing your performance later.

Singe: *grins, returning the firm handshake* I promise, it will be a performance that you will never forget! *as he winks*

Daniel: *gives a small"hmm" like it was a chuckle before letting go of Singe's hand and started walking off*

Singe: *watches Daniel walk off, a soft smile on his face. He'd look back at Bubble, Mako, and Margarite and chuckle* Cute kid.

Bubble: *huge grin on her face* That went pretty well~

Singe: *nods and smile, pulling his phone out of his pocket to check the time.* Ah.. damn, I need to get going.. I'll see you guys later! *waves and heads off*

Mako: *finishes off his drink and wave back a little* ......... Anyone else think that was a bit weird.?

Margarite: *laughs* What's with the surprised face, I thought it was cute.

Bubble: *spins around on her stool to face Margarite* I knooooow, right? They really seem to hit it off!

Mako: *look at Bubble with a twitchy ear* Didn't it look weird though?! He just started preening him!

Margarite: *takes Mako's glass with a big grin on her face* Oh calm down Fish-Face, you heard him. It was a friendly gesture. ...... Even if it looked like Singe was enjoying it more than he should've~

Bubble: *starts giggling, her hand over her mouth* Singe was never preened much growing up. His dad was never home, so he spent a lot of his time with me and my family. And... well, I'm not very good at it.

Margarite: *snickers and smirks at Mako* Well, it sure looked like Daniel was pretty thorough about it~

Bubble: *glances at the feathers on the ground and nods* I'm just glad Daniel is opening up with other ponies... I had to pretty much pull teeth to get Daniel to come be social with me and my friends that last semester of college. Although the school's library was a pretty good bribe.

Mako: *scratches the back of his head* Lady's been telling me he's been trying his best, though he's not getting anywhere.. He still just has the two mare friends back in Ponyville... *ear twitches and scrunches up his muzzle* And even though that was all... weird to watch, I guess he finally made a new friend... Even if that friend is a ass."

Bubble: *smacks Mako's arm gently* Oh be nice. Singe wasn't all that bad this time around.

Mako: Kind of hard to believe that when he's flirting with my nephew. I know it's a joke, but Daniel takes things so literal...

Bubble: *shrugs* I wouldn't say it was flirting....

Margarite: *sips her glass of water* Does it really matter, he was just poking fun.

Mako: *turn to Margarite, his ears flat* Yeah, just to piss me off, from the looks of it.

Margarite: *huffs, setting her glass down* Hey, how about pulling that stick out of your ass for once and not assume the worst?

Bubble: *snickers, rubbing Mako's back* I don't think Singe has any malicious intents. If anything, I think he's excited to find someone with common interests.

Mako: *looks at Bubble and lets out a sigh* Yeah.. I guess.. *smiles softly and kisses Bubble's cheek*

Bubble: *nuzzles him gently, kissing the end of his nose* Don't worry so much, you'll give yourself gray hair *giggled softly* old man~

Mako: *chuckles, giving her a playfully push* I just can't help it when it comes to Daniel and Annie.

Bubble: *rolls her eyes* Daniel has grown and matured so much since I last saw him, I'm sure he will be fine..

Mako: *looks off in the direction Daniel walked off and think for a few minutes...* I hope so.
