Description Humanity. A Plague, the end of our planet. Sooner or later.

It's terrible how deeply people changed our given nature. Maybe nature was given to mankind to be changed, improved and used, but maybe we all are just guests on this planet and we have to preserve it and do good to it. Either way, i think it IS the wrong way our race is going. We want bigger tomatoes, so we change their genetic structure. We wanna live forever, so we clone sheeps. We wanna build a city were it shoudln't be, so we destroy forest, dry up swamps and kill all animals. We want power and money, so we seek and destroy, kill, opress and despoil.

And that#s only one half of the thing. Mankind isn't smart enough to exploit the earth as a big team of assholes, they kill each other, the destroy and devastate homes and teh basics of other's lifes. We enslave, we kill, we use. What we need isn't what we want, we want more. Power, Money, and if we could use it for ourself in any way, we would buy cannons to shoot stars, suns, and to erase our nightly fires to create total darkness...

The question is why, and the answer is a punch in peoples face, a kick in mankinds stomach and a hit on humanities very own heart.
For what? For our own, and only our own good...

The question is wouldn't we be playing god if we try to change it...

I think we would if we don't change our minds first

Oscar Wilde once said:
"A perfect man is one who develops under perfect conditions; one who is not wounded, or worried, or maimed, or in danger. Most personalities have been obliged to be rebels. Half their strength has been wasted in friction."

Everything we do, everything everybody else does to us affects who we are. Our countries boast about how 'equality' is the center of their system. And yet they breed inequality. I'm not talking about the obvious discrimination against blacks/gays/women etc. I'm talking about social inequality, as long as one person can earn thousands a day and another just make minimum wage (if that), there is no really equality.

So why do we destroy the earth?
Because we are always looking for more... all of us... the poor work to be rich, the rich be richer.

But what if we abolished privleges?
If there were no rich, no 'middle', 'lower', and 'upper' class. What would we have to look to? To work for?
Who could we compare possesions with?

Would we finally reach an equilibrium, and start to concentrate on things outside of our selves? Like the planet..
At the very least it's an interesting thought...

Sadly, there would always be at least one human to try to be the "upper" class...

i don't know... but i somehow doubt, with the exception of a handful of tree-hugging-lunatics, that mankind actually does give a shit about the environment and this world in which we live. you could show people, most of them anyways, forests being destroyed to make way for grazing lands, mountains leveled to get at the mineral deposits someone else deems valuable, oil rigs spewing forth with what's left of the fossils fuels of this world to be burned in any one of a billion different gas-sucking vehicles... and no one would care... not for a minute. people... they're all too worried about fashion, about celebrities, about the cars that they drive and how much money they can amass before they die. the planet has since become nothing more than a stage where we play out our lives... a stage we apparently feel free to alter as we see fit. i don't want bigger tomatoes, i don't want to live forever, and i don't want to live in a city... no, i dream and hope for something better... a world that still involves mankind, but we are no longer the self-proclaimed masters of it...

mankind only cares about what could change their perfect little life in their blue bubble - if for every three cut in the rainforest, your car would get a scratch, hell, millions of people would care...

Really nice piece. The line work is good, reminding me almost of a woodcut print. I love your use of colours against the white, the sickly kind of burnt look you've created with the browns and black provide a nice contrast to a colour traditionally associated with purity.

I'm amazed by the sort of texture you use on your drawings. They're so intricate and beautiful and wonderfully surreal... and this one's no different. Excellent job... and some good philosophy behind it, too.

I really like the concept and style of the piece. The message is powerful and the composition beautifully illustrates it.

AMEN TO THAT!! I have always said, (and I took it from the Matrix cause I don't think it could be said any other way) Man is a virus, we are cancer in all of its splender and terror. We come in with our biological weapons, nuclear mistles, seni-automatic riffels and we inhialate everything in our path, whatever we want, we take no matter what the cost and what we don't want we leave behind for dead. It would be better off if we weren't even created or made or whatever the theories are, we need to be destroyed, everyone of us, even those who fight for the country, as little as they do to harm the earth, they are still doing damage, humans always will, then we will go on to the next planet until it is dead. Oh well, what do you do when you're part of the race that is going to destroy the universe?
