So, yup, that was me. I only have a few pictures from before I was curse, but this one's my favorite because this was when my Mom made me the jacket that I'm always wearing. And so she wanted a picture of me in it, you know how Mom's are. I keep it around just........ you know............ so I remember how I looked before all.......... this...(( Thanks for the question This also made a great question for my milestone of twenty questions! 8D And so....... now you know what she looked like before the curse :3 ))

*She nods slightly and looks away as she places a hand on the back of her neck* I........ I know. But I'm pretty sure not just a few minutes ago I said I hope you never have to find out how it's like to be this way.......... not even if it's only for a day. I'm not going to put you through that Tain.

*She looks up at him with a bit of an unsure expression* Yeah but..... but.... *sighs* I don't know. Taking something that I hate so much..... and just handing it off to a friend for them to have? It just seems wrong. I know it's only for a day, but I don't think I'd even be able to enjoy being temporarily normal knowing that you'll be cursed.

*It's been a couple weeks since they last talked and she hadn't really mentioned going through with the curse reversing again. But on this day, a small knock is heard on Tain's door and Serina calls out a little* Tain? Are..... are you home?

*There is no answer but the candles and fireplace inside his house are alight and flickering. Suddenly the sound of something breaking the water can be heard in the pool next to his house. Tain surfaces and takes a relieving breath. His beard is now shaved, having finally caught up with the magic. He is standing waist deep in the pool as he wipes the water from his eyes. As they open he realizes he isn't alone.* Reenah?

*Her head lifts up a little as she hears him and she walks around to the side of the house. She walks around the corner and then looks over to see him in the pool* Oh, there you are. I was wondering where you were. So um, I kind of wanted to talk to you.......... about the whole being normal for one day thing. I've just kind of been giving it a little more thought over the past couple weeks and I kind of wanted to talk about it to see if maybe...... the offer still stood. This a bad time?

*He blinks a few times as though not fully grasping what she is talking about. But then his mouth spreads into a smile and he says.* No. Not bad time. Reenah want talk. We talk. *He is about to get out when he stops, looks down, looks back up, and asks.* Umm... Could Reenah turns 'round for a little bit?...

What? *she raises an eyebrow slightly from the question but then her eyes quickly widen and she blushes heavily* Oh geez Tain I'm s-sorry! I didn't know you were.......... I mean I didn't mean to......... I just...... *she quickly places her hands over her eyes as she whips around* I-I'll just head into the house until you're r-ready...... *she rushes towards the house but suddenly slams hard into the side of it instead* ........ ow. *she rubs her sore nose a little but then quickly places her hands back over her eyes as she blushes deeper* Sorry I'm g-going now, so you can....... uh, I'll just................. I'm going in the house now. *she quickly takes off around the corner as she rushes inside the door*

*Tain has to hold in a laugh as he watches her stumble over her words, and almost jumps out to help when she runs into his house. But luckily he figured that would only exacerbate things and allowed her to run inside. Once he hears the door slam he steps out of the water and shakes himself in a very similar manner as a dog. He grabs a fluffy and worn square of cloth which he uses to finish drying himself. After that he slips on his pants and his tunic and walks around to the front of his house. As he walks inside he says.* Don't worry Reenah. Tain dressed now.

*She sits in a chair with her forehead down against the table feeling incredibly stupid over what just happened. When she hears him talk, she lifts her head up a little and looks over in his direction* Oh uh, good........... I mean it's good that you have clothes on now........... uh, because then you're not.............. *she quickly places her forehead back down against the table top with a hard thud* I'm shutting up now.....

Reenah alright? *Tain asks as he sits down across from her.* Reenah act like that first time Reenah ever see naked man. *He chuckles for a moment but then stops and turns towards her with a raised eyebrow.* Uh... That not first time Reenah see naked man right?.....

*She quickly raises her head from the table as her eyes widen and she blushes deeply* What......... what kind of question is that?! That's not....... I don't.......... hey I have an idea let's change subjects and talk about oh I don't know maybe why I came here in the first place yeah let's talk about that. Alright so.............. wait why am I here again?................ oh right right, the curse thingy. So uh yeah let's talk about that.

Ok. *He replies as he pulls on his boots and begins lacing them up.* What about it?

*She crosses her arms across the tabletop as she calms down a little* Well, I've been kind of thinking it over and..... I think that maybe........ I'd like to go ahead and do it. You know.......... if you're still up for it. I mean, since using the gem to reverse the curse for a day would be effecting you too I just........ want to make sure you really want to do it. And if you don't then I TOTALLY understand and hey, we can just forget this whole thing.

*Tain looks up at her then looks back down as he finishes tying up his boot. He then stands and drapes his brown cloak over his shoulders.* Road not easy. We leave now we make it there by midday.

*She looks up at him with a bit of concern* You.......... didn't really say that you were ok with this Tain. I can see you're ready to go and all but....... I kind of want you to actually tell me if you're ok with this or not. I don't want you just doing this because it might make me happy, I want to know that you're going to be comfortable with going through with this too. After all you............ you won't exactly be receiving the best part of this...

*He turns towards her and smiles.* Of course Tain ok with this. Tain wouldn't have offered if Tain wasn't alright. *He shoulders his satchel and straps his weapons to his back.* So.... What made Reenah decide?

*She smiles with a little more reassurance know that he was really ok with going through with this. As he asks her what made her decide, she shrugs slightly as she stands up* I just sorta thought that with all the craziness in my life, you know, with bounty hunters, guards and the like after me that........... maybe I should have my moment at being normal before it's too late. *she smiles a little and scoots the chair she was sitting in back up to the table*

*He blows out the numerous candles and douses the fire before opening the door to his house for her.* Alright. Reenah ready go?

*She hesitates somewhat as she just stands there in silence. After a few seconds go by, she smiles slightly and nods as she heads towards the door* Yeah........... I'm ready.

*He leads them on. Through the deep woods of the central forest and out onto the grassy hills that come before the ice kingdom. Slowly the air gets colder as they near the snowy border.*

*She shivers slightly as a chilling breeze rushes by. The Ice Kingdom. She hated the Ice Kingdom. But there wasn't much she could do about it with the gem being in between the two kingdoms. She takes out some heated gloves from her pouch and slips then on. At least these special gloves would help keep her warm enough as they traveled so she wouldn't freeze up. She still really hated the Ice Kingdom, heated gloves or not*

*As they travel next to the border the fire kingdom can be seen in the distance, blockaded by a giant mountain range. Slowly the border curves inwards. As does the fire kingdom's border. Suddenly a single mountain appears as they crest the next hill. Half of it appears black with soot and fire spews forth from certain openings, while the other half is light blue and covered with snow.* almost there... *He murmurs.*

*Her eyes widen slightly at the sight of the mountain sitting off in the distance before them. It was certainly something she'd never really seen before and quite an impressive sight* W-wow that...... that's amazing! *She'd never really thought about what was along the border between the Ice Kingdom and the Fire Kingdom before and she didn't really think it'd be something like this. Two opposing elements coming together to form this one incredible landscape* So, I'm guessing the gem's in there then.

*Tain nods as they slowly approach it.* Careful. Mountain tricky. And we need get to the top.

.......... Really? The top? *She looks up towards the treacherous mountain that on one side spewed fire and lava while the other side had the cliffs of ice and snow covered ground. She raises an eyebrow slightly as she looks over at him* Yeah........ looks easy. Piece of cake.

Just watch step. *He says as he begins a sure footed climb up the mountain side. Occasionally he will look over his shoulder to make sure Serina is still with him. At several instances Tain stops, not comfortable with his footing, and replaces his feet in another spot before continuing the ascent.*

*She slowly follows behind him and watches carefully to where he steps to know exactly where the safe path would be. She continues forward as she steps over the snowy boulders and occasional lava rocks. She moves upwards and steps onto a somewhat wobbly rock. Not paying attention to this, she steps up but then the rock slips from under her and she slides back down the mountain side. She gives a bit of a shocked yell and quickly grabs onto a passing sturdy rock to keep her from falling any further. She catches her breath a second and shakes her head a little as she starts climbing back up*

*Tain looks back as she slides to make sure she wasn't hurt or had gone to far. But as she stands back up and begins clearing the lost distance he nods at her and continues climbing. Finally, after what seems to be half an hour of continuous hiking they pull themselves up onto a sheer cliff face. Ice crunches under their boots as they stand and warm steam blows out from hairline cracks in the cliff. Directly in front of them is a cave made of cooled volcanic rock with ice crystals hanging from the ceiling. A ceaseless column of thick steam wafts from the interior, and a glow of what could only be fire or lava, illuminates the otherwise dark interior.* Almost there. *Tain states as he steps towards the entrance.*

*She nods a little and follows behind him. As they walk into the cave, she looks around at the various impressive sights. It was still somewhat strange to see the flowing lava slowly move about in the different areas of the cave while also seeing the glistening icicles hanging above* You know, it's kind of weird that this place can even exist. What with the heat of the fire and the cool of the ice. You'd think that one would cancel the other one out and take over the entire mountain. Strange to see both elements in here. *she smiles slightly as she flicks at a couple icicles frozen along a nearby wall*

*He nods as he steps over a small lava flow and says.* Tain not exactly sure how mountain formed. It not magic. More like.... Right time right place. *He says trying his best to explain that its existence is merely a coincidence. Suddenly, as they turn a corner, they see it. The gem is massive, actually forming the back portion of the cave. The floors, walls, and ceiling are all made of an amalgamation of the two clashing gem types. One side is predominantly made of orange glowing fire gem, with slight heat waves emanating from it. While the other side is almost entirely ice gem and a blanket of light fog falls from all sides much like opening a freezer. Despite the obvious line between the two there are flecks and shards of the opposing gem buried into either side, as though each one is fighting for supremacy. And in the center, rising from the ground, is a stalagmite of the two gems that has risen up to the approximate height of Serina's chest. Sitting atop this protrusion is a flawless orb like gem, split perfectly down the middle between the fire and ice gems. Inside this orb is a soft purple glow that seems out of place in such an environment.* We here...

*Her eyes widen at the sight before them. Out of nearly everything she'd stolen in her life, the gem she was looking at now was like nothing she had ever seen* I.......... I know you said the gem was big but......... wow..... *She slowly walks forward, slightly intimidated by the sheer magnificence of the two opposing elements joining together and forming such an amazing jewel* So......... what do we do now?

*Tain walks forward and places his hand on the ice gem side of the orb. The purple light inside flickers a little as though acknowledging his presence.* Now Reenah touch fire side. Won't burn.

*She watches as he touches the gem and she becomes increasingly nervous now that they were actually here. That this was actually going to happen. After the trek and everything to get to this point she knew she couldn't turn back now and she takes in a deep breath as she walks up to the fire side of the gem. She hesitates a second but then shakily reaches out and lightly places her hand against the slightly warm gem*

*Suddenly the purple light inside the gem bursts out of its crystalline confines and envelopes the duo in what appears to be writhing purple flames. But instead of feeling heat or burning, the flames actually seem to produce a cooling feel. In fact their breath becomes foggy as the surge of magical power begins to him through them. Then a deep and resonant voice shakes the cavern and seems to come from the gem.* Two beings, bound by friendship, do enter this ancient place with intent most noble. Personal sacrifice for the other's happiness. But be forewarned. Your curse shall be the other's burden. Albeit a temporary one. Fire element. Do you accept this burden? *Tain nods at Serina to tell her to say yes.*

*She looks over at Tain as he nods and then back forward. She was already beating herself up inside for about to let Tain go through this, she really wished she didn't have to hear it repeated to her again by some intimidating voice speaking from a gem. She looks down at the ground for a few seconds as she thought over the situation one last time. It's completely silent as she just stands there until she finally gives out with a small sigh and looks back up* ........... yes.

Ice element. Do you accept this burden? *Tain looks towards Serina, gives her an assuring smile, and says.* Yes. *Suddenly the purple light becomes blinding, forcing the both of them to close their eyes. Serina and Tain are lifted into the air by an unseen force and the sound of rushing air fills the cave causing their clothes and hair to whip around them. Although they cannot see it because of the light a writhing green energy pulls out of Serina's chest and flies at Tain, pushing itself into his body. Then, strangely, a splintering black aura is pulled out of Tain and flung at Serina, who's body absorbs it. The blinding light dies almost as quickly as it came and they are dropped unceremoniously back to the ground. Steam envelopes the air blocking their view of each other.*

*She lays on the ground for a few seconds before opening her eyes slightly. The room spun around a little as she places a hand against her throbbing head. As she places her hand against her head, her eyes then widen at what she feels. No scales. She slowly takes her hand away from her head and looks down at it. The green coloring, the reptilian scales, the sharp, yellow claws. Gone* It........... it worked. *She sets herself up as she looks over the rest of her. Not even a tail remained and she slowly runs her hand down a strand of her now black hair. A wide grin spread across her face but it then quickly fades as she looks up. She then looks around as she tries to see Tain's condition through the steam* Tain? Are........... are you ok?

*Tain coughs a few times and stands slowly before stumbling and catching himself on the floor. His balance feels off... And his teeth hurt. He attempts to stand again with a bit more succes and he feels something strange. The ground about a foot behind him. Tain concentrates and feels a limb lifting off of the ground. What is that?.... The tail. Right... He looks down and sees the bright green scales that now make up his skin. Much like the tail this feels strange. Almost like each scale is a separate piece of skin and it moves in a concentric way based on the scale next to it... Strange... But his mouth is the biggest surprise. Hooked teeth along the gums, fangs at the front, and a long forked tongue that gives him a whole new level of sense. He feels cold. And sluggish. Probably from the ice. He wonders if this is what Serina feels like all the time. Large neon green orbs look over at Serina. Messy red hair adorns his head and despite the scales, eyes, mouth, nose, and face in general, the face looking at her is unmistakably Tain. He smiles with closed lips and says.* Hey Reenah.

*She just stares back at him with no real expression on her face as she sat silently on the floor. She honestly didn't know how to feel at this point. She was of course elated at the fact she was back to her normal self for the first time in a long time............. but as she looked up at him, the reptilian features that just a few minutes ago belonged to her but was now worn by one of her dearest friends, she was devastated at the cost for her normal appearance. After remembering that this was going to be strictly temporary, she manages a small smile as she shakily stands up. She stumbles forward a little as her center of balance is thrown off. Right........ no tail. She felt somewhat lighter without it and it actually felt kind of strange not having it now. She moves forward slowly as she tries getting used to the feeling of walking without the use of her tail and then she smiles up at him* Tain............. this is probably the greatest thing anyone has ever given me. Thank you so much. *she smiles warmly and hugs him tight, finding the feeling of his scales against her regular skin somewhat weird considering that she was normally the one with the scales*

*Tain smiles and hugs her back* Reenah welcome. *He releases her and asks.* Sssso. How doessss it feel? *They begin walking towards the exit.*

*She smiles as she looks down at her hands* It's a little strange......... but familiar. And kind of even a little....... overwhelming. I'm..... I'm actually normal again. No fangs, no scales, no claws just....... me. *she smile brightly but then places a hand back up to her head and chuckles lightly* And besides the slight headache from the change, I feel....... great. Better than I have in a long time. *after continually staring at her hands, she then shakes her head a little and looks up at him* So um, how do you feel though?

Sssstiff. *He replies as he is still attempting to get used to his new mouth.* Like been ssssleeping on ground too long. *Tain rolls his shoulders eliciting several loud pops.* Feel heavy... Feel thick... *He thumps his chest with his fist as though testing its feel.* Also feel sssstronger. Sssstrange. But not bad. *He blinks a few times. What he didn't expect was the short sensations of heat that he feels in tandem with his sight, smell, and even taste. He feels Serina almost as much as he sees her. They exit the cave and begin walking down the mountainside.*

*She places a hand on the back of her neck as she chuckles slightly* Um, yeah. The scales might feel a little bulky at first but once you get used them they'll kind loosen up. If you just kind of try to forget they're there then it'll help make your movements a little quicker. Oh! And remember, be sure to stay out of the cold or you'll freeze up. *as she thinks of that, she then remembers the snowy environment that they were already in and takes the heated gloves back out of her pouch* Speaking of cold, here, you might want these. They'll help keep you warm until we get out of here.

*Tain smiles and tries to slip the gloves on. Unfortunately they only cover the fingers of his massive hand. He hands them back and says.* Thankssss anyway Reenah. *He stuffs his hands inside his pockets and draws his cloak around himself.*

*She sighs and places the gloves back into her pouch* Well......... we'll just make sure to get out of here as quick as possible alright? *she begins making her way down the mountain a little faster so as to get him out of the cold as fast as she can*
