I have no idea. The fire started during mass. They had to evacuate. Some renovations were being done on another part of the structure, and arson investigators believe it started on the construction site, but they're still investigating so they won't know for sure yet.

It's a shame that people have dismissed it's importance, but it's not ''just a building''. People can be so self-righteous. Obviously they don't understand it's historical significance and how i's basically a symbol of France. I'm not even Catholic, but it's a big deal. One doesn't need to be pious to grasp that.
