"Sing them something sweet, my father said, they'll lounge in your jowls." Saccharine cooed to himself, his breath exhaled in notes, his diaphragm hardly seemed to move. His body remained still, partially hidden by shadows. He wasn't looked upon as a threat, his secret smirk concealed and beyond the reach of the light dripping through the grates above.

The small, fat, bi-colored fox drew in another breath and gave a musical purr.

"Sing them to sleep, sing them to sleep," he thought as the rats dropped from their perches before him, fast asleep and might as well be considered dead.

"Slumber is the closest to death when you are alive," Saccharine finished in a low D, he then picked himself up and waddled to the closest rat.
