EDIT: It is possible Kopa could have been any age around the time Kiara came around (and admittedly after a while, I kind of hope he was around Kiara's age cuz that's cute), but it doesn't explain where the heck he was in the second movie. So I'm gonna go with the idea he either was killed by Zira or grew up and left the pride to make his own. *shrugs*What could have been or what was
A "what if" scene if Kopa had been in the 2nd movie, which I'm kind of disappointed he wasn't.
So I kind of jumped onto the Zira-killed-Kopa-thus-the-exile-of-the-outlanders ordeal bandwagon, lol. Yet there is always the theory that Kopa grew into a young lion and moved on to start his own pride (which they tend to do in the wild, although a second and occasionally, a third male normally stay with one pride.)
But the first theory is so much more dramatic, although Kopa is adorable and would've made a nice pairing with Vitani...ooh possible fandom?
Anyway, this is Kopa as a young lion just growing into his mane with Kiara at the start of "Simba's Pride." For some reason I couldn't get his left arm right, I must have redrawn in like ten times, all well.

I thought Disney just randomly decided to make the cub a girl I never knew there was an off-screen chunk of the story.

If you never had mentioned his left arm, I wouldn't have noticed, Lol. I also think Zira killed Kopa and thats why they were banned, and why Simba is always protective over Kiara. I also think that Kopa (if he did live) should come back to the Pride Lands and take on Kovu!! Whoot! Or they can just live in peace (like Disney tends to make it), Haha. Very nice picture by the way. Kopa's expression is perfect.

Personally seeing a scene of Zira chasing down Kopa or something would have been a nice beginning, or at least a flashback, just to make the plot deeper, but Disney sequels tend to cut short on depth (the only ones I adore tend to be from Pixar, Pocahontas, and Lady and the Tramp II.)

Yeah, but Disney doesnt like to have too many "hate" scenes to make it seem like the world of Disney is always a perfect place. Maybe someday somebody will clear this up. Haha.

We can only hope - I do enjoy the happy part of Disney, since there are plenty of other companies that make you feel depressed and scared inside, but just a little would be nice. Hunchback of Notre Dame was pretty thrilling (the soundtrack was amazing and definitely contributed) and surprisingly, the shadows in Princess and the Frog made a shiver run down my spone, the way they screeched and everything made me go "whoa, go Disney!" But that was only because it was totally unexpected, in a good way lol.

Yeah, the happy parts are fine. I didn't mean to make it sound like they weren't. Hehhe. It just would be nice if they ended all these theories about Kopa. Haha, though some are very creative. I'm really hoping Disney will pick up with the old tracks of good quality movies. Some of the new ones I'm like, "Uh...wtf?" Princess and the Frog was one of the movies I liked also. I wish they would do more, and experience a little with the older style of art, and just put Pixar 3-D movies to a small hold or something. Haha. I also hope they continue to do different style of ethnicities, showing everyone that it doesn't matter what race you are, anybody can be a princess.

No problem, ranting is healthy lol.
The problem is with 2D animated movies is that they take up a lot of time - that's why there's such a gap between good quality movies from Disney lately. It took 4 1/2 years for Dreamworks to create Spirit, Studio Ghibli almost 5 for Princess Mononoke (pretty much bc 10% is CGI) and Disney it's about the same way, anyone who creates 2D Animation is awesome, unfortunately with all the half-baked shows/movies showing up during those gaps, it's hard to hold some respect for such backwashed creativity.
I mean, Hannah Montana is so horrible I can't even go and watch "The Last Song" because she's in it, I just can't stand her acting and singing bleh.
All this ranting on my behalf makes me miss Toonami lol...

Haha, yeah, especially on Cartoon Network, I am so terribly disappointed in the shows, more than half don't even make sense, and now on CN, they are having some reality shows? I am "WHAT?!" Seriously, what is the point of having reality shows on a CARTOON channel. Kind of defeats the purpose.
Even if the 2-D animations take longer, I still like them. Just think of how Princess Mononoke is still selling, even the Lion King movies are. I do like 3-D, actually I love 3-D, but some of them really suck.

They're putting reality shows on CN? Seriously? Can't people draw anymore?! A little effort wouldn't kill anyone, I mean, I used to love Spongebob, and I still do (the older episodes anyway) but now they're disgusting (fungi? the splinter?) and some I can't stand watching. The only time i watch tv nowadays is for Criminal minds, occasionally to watch Avatar (that's awesome animation right there, the plot is pretty sweet too.) I'm currently collecting DVD movies now so my younger siblings can watch what's really good (The Last Unicorn, Disney classics, etc.)
Tangled is coming out in November and I'm looking forward to that since Glen Keane (Tarzan, Treasure Planet, Mouse Detective, etc.) is helping out with the animation, plus the voice actors I know of.

Yeah they are. Grrrr. I watch T.V. for reality shows, no more cartoons. I love Animal Planet, some shows on TBS, TNT, and Lifetime (hehehe). Nothing too much though. I have seen all the Avatar episodes. ^.^ ANd I think it is pretty good also. I can't wait for the new movie to come out. I like most Disney movies in the 1990s and some early 2000. Not too much of a fan of the new movies, but Bolt and The Princess and the Frog, I did like. Haha. I haven't heard of the movie Tangled before. O.O

Sometimes I do wish Disney would take a look at the fan-created characters and story plots and decide "hey, you know, that isn't a bad idea", and actually do them. Just for the sake of giving something to their bigger fans.

Agreed, I've seen so many comic/fanfiction on the net I always wondered why the brains behind the movie couldn't bust them out themselves...or maybe they were shot down. Surely if (say) a sixteen year old could come up with some great plot twister, why can't one of the story board writers no?
I bet it was the business thing and then there's that stupid time limit, but mysteries in the storyline are the reason fanfiction exists I suppose.

But if Kopa was born before Kiara then he would be older than Kiara, therefore older than Vitani (Vitani and Kovu could have been of the same litter, they look the same age to me considering they're the same size) plus there is plenty of fanart out there (yes, fanart shouldn't be accountable as a fact) that signifies Nuka and Kopa being friends - of course, this is just fanfiction, but believable theories nonetheless.
Then there's the gestation period of a lion to watch out for, so obviously there would be an age gap between Kopa and Kiara.

no its actualy known that vitnani is the same age as kopa and there is a deleted scene about when kiara was born where nuka and vitani sawe the birth and reported it to zira in which vitani already looked like she does later inthe movie ya ive heard storys of kopa and nuka being freinds but thats becuase he hung around with kopa and vitani both together i know theres an age gap its just much smaller

Ah well, I just think it's odd how that would be when Vitani, Kovu, and Kiara all appear the same age. As I said, oh well, I never heard of that information before...I don't know anyone who has the DVD release for the Lion King II and I've never seen it on any of the information sites I've been on, so I thought I had free reign.

Well, considering there's no mention of Kopa and the only idea of the time that has passed between the death of Scar and the 2nd movie, I think it's reasonable to assume Kopa is older than Vitani and perhaps a little younger than Nuka. Plus the cutscene revealed Kovu, so I'm still thinking Kovu and Vitani are of the same litter ^^
If there's a question of whether Kovu and Vitani were conceived during Scar's reign before Simba's return, my fun theory is that Kopa was conceived sometime after Nala and Simba's reunion (at the end of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight") then time passed before Simba made up his mind to return to Pride Rock, where around that time Zira and Scar mated (but that's assuming Scar is the father of Vitani and Kovu, which has always been debatable.)
Not meaning to offend, but I'm going to continue with my theory, but thanks to the newfound information, I will probably make him a little younger ~ thank you for the cutscenes!

ya kovu and vitani may be the same litter but thats becuase kovu is a bit older then kiara tani and kopa are still the same age
scar is not kovus father! {vitani is questionalbe but kovu is not}
remember nuka says "kovu kovu kovu scar wasnt even his father he just took him in and....."
