The New Paradigm Dalek Design was pretty much a "WTF were they thinking" moment for me.
I'm glad the producers decided to go back to using the Time War Era Bronze Casings, reserving the use of the new design's for Dalek commander's.

I had the same reaction. I expected monsters of daleks what I get are power rangers trash cans. Thank god they all died.

Simply put, the Daleks have lost their touch. In "Victory Of The Daleks", they become frickin' power rangers, and in "The Pandorica Opens", they are WORKING TOGETHER with others, and in "The Big Bang", one is easily destroyed by River Song.
I mean, think back to series 1, in "Dalek", the doctor is terrified of it, but in the victory episode, he isn't too afraid, just angry.
I think the Silents have a better chance now, but lets just wait for the 7th series. Maybe it'll change...

I think that they did a great job, and brought back some of the Dalek's menacing side, but I still think they could have done better (It felt a little rushed).
I mean, that's my opinion, and I have a lot more to it that I can't list here, but don't get mad if you don't like it (please).

I'll agree it was a bit rushed. The episode seems to be taking a lot of flak from some people for what feel like petty reasons to me (Skaro's back! Maybe this'll be explained later and it's asking for a tie in! Does the fandom squee or whine about how it doesn't make sense? Which do you think?), but I'll agree it wasn't perfect. It's still the best episode they've made since A Good Man Goes To War.

I still can't wait for the episode that we'll see the return of the Weeping Angels! I do hope that they do an extra special job with that one, 'cause the Weeping Angels are awesome!
I agree that it wasn't perfect, but it was very well done compared to some of the other stuff they've done.

My reaction to the new/ now current design was a little more dramatic than that. When I first saw them (and I'm not making this up) I literally shouted "what? NO!". I wouldn't look at them a few mounths afterwards I hated them so much. But they've grown on me a little since then. but I still prefer the earlier designs (excluding the movie daleks).

i dont know, making the mid section look fat and chunky adn compelteley changing the neck brace seem a step away from the old design to me

tisk tisk, yes the problems with the new daleks. but they were given the colours, they want to make matt smith like the old doctors, even more nostalgia instead of just golden. bring the colours of the rainbow in

i want to like them, hell i like colour coding as uch as the next aspie guy but they jsut arent intimidating anymore, sure theyre classic looking but they have that ugly hunch from the side aswell

I think they are intimidating. They are tall, got great voices, human type eyes on the stalk. Watch the last episode when the Dalek is the stoney version, awesome!
The only thing i dont like about them is the back, the big stupid hunch.

too true. i was NOT afan of the new daleks. or even that they brought the daleks back. now i'm a dalek fan. they terrify me. honestly... but i thought that when RTD left, we would be done with them for now. and really... whats with the pretty colors.... just doesn't work.
