Description
What can you say about An American Werewolf in London that hasn't already been said. I'm not sure I can something new so I'm just gonna go with OMG that Movie is awesome. This screen cap is of the transformation scene hands down the best example of why practical effects beat the hell out of CGI.
I have nothing against CGI but I have yet to see any CGI effect that can rival this scene in its intensity and jaw dropping detail.
If your a werewolf or horror fan and haven't seen An American Werewolf in London whats wrong with you? Go watch it.... right now that's an order. If your curious about the behind the scenes stuff I recommend a great documentary called Beware the Moon it goes into detail on everything from the writing and production to the effects.
I do not own the rights to An American Werewolf in London

I can't believe I didn't post this when I ed this....damn RIGHT this is one of the best werewolf movies ever made..."The Howling" and "Wolfen",released that same year, look utterly ridiculous by comparison, and don't even get me started on that rotten pseudo-sequel...and that IS one of the best werewolf transformations ever done, and Baker did it all without any CGI!!!!

You poor soul you actually sat threw "American Werewolf in Paris"? Do need hug?
My joking aside yeah I'd argue that "American Werewolf in London" was the pinnacle of werewolf movies for story and effects.

Sat through it?HELL no.When I first heard about it,it sounded like such an incredibly bad idea,I wasn't exactly making a mad rush for the theater...even less so when I started reading the reviews.
When it appeared on cable months later, what little I saw of it looked so terrible,I've never watched the entire thing.

The right move, I saw on cable when I was younger threw my hands in the air and walked away around the 20 minute mark. Since then I have read the plot synopsis and they could have missed the mark hard if they tried.
