at least the art made you feel something. That's the whole point of art- to invoke feeling.

I understand what you're trying to say.
Honestly if this picture wasn't about a concentration camp (take out all of the symbolism) alot of people who are into dark/morbid art would love this picture, favourite it, feature it in a blog, and give it comments with positive context etc.
Sure, this picture depicts a tragic and sad event-to say the least, but that doesn't mean the art can't be praised and even called beautiful. So much art is done for arts sake and rarely evokes any true emotions; unlike this piece which stirs a range of emotions in all of us.

g's why is every one so touchy about concetration camps! yes they were brutal but its over now. a simple compliment doesnt really need to be questioned just because of the context

"... it's over now."

Hm. I really don't wanna advertise sh***, but you don't have to go far to recognise: sadly you're so wrong about that.

(just one more example to proof what I'm talking about )

That may be a reason, why some get "so touchy" about concentration camps.

I'm sorry I'm so touchy about the concentration camps.

something about thousands of unjustified death just seems to bother me for some reason.

It happened a while ago, everyone feels badly about it. bad shit happens all the time there are tonnes of unjustified deaths everyday im sure. do you morn the witch hunts? if some one said 'sweet' to a picture portraying that would that be such a huge deal?

the difference between the witch trials and the Holocaust is vast, and your defence is weak because of that.

One should consider the fact that the Holocaust was not very long ago and still takes a great psychological toll on the individuals who experienced the terror of the camps and those who witnessed it for themselves, thus it still stands as a discomforting event to those who realize these individuals still exist, not to mention there still exists an immense amount of shame in areas the event took place. It hurts everyone, and whether you think I'm overreacting or not, depictions of its devastations shouldn't be viewed with such lightheartedness.

The concentration camps were the epitome of vicious cruelty and despicable acts of crime that affected more than a group of promiscuous woman hanged from trees in the times of paranoia over demonic influences centuries ago.

Nothing quite matches the evilness of the concentration camps. They were the beginning steps of something much worse, and the very thought of those past possibilities strikes fear into those who know what happened and what could have under Hitler's continued command.

The person who posted this image could only expect controversial commenters like myself.

The problem with the commenting system here is that people are under the impression that it's all right to leave the same comment for every deviation posted here, and they don't expect it causes any offense.

I personally feel like if I myself had been a victim of a concentration camp, I wouldn't want a teenager to look at my pain and say "sweet" only to move on without any deep thoughts.

While that may all be true, there are modern genocides happening around us and due to people looking backwards rather than forwards we forget. Then 60 years from now we will look back and these genocides will be the new Holocaust. Maybe if we stayed with the present time, everything would be better.

OR BLUNT VERSION

WE GET THE POINT, IT'S OVER NOW, HEY PEOPLE ARE DYING OVER HERE, HOW ABOUT WE SAVE THEM RATHER THAN WEEP FOR THE PAST

When did I write that, like a year ago?

I stand by my point. Current day misfortunes can hardly rival such a barbaric form of cruelty, as sad as they are, not to say they are any less trivial and earth shattering for families. But, everything you said is completely beside the point, and doesn't merit any kind of mode of reasoning. It really has nothing to do with what I was trying to prove at all, lol.
