PLZ HALP!OK, so I decided to redo this one, now that I'm not fighting so hard with my tablet anymore [link]
Now he is all glowy. Yay. Made him a bit skinner, too, since the dude was starving in the mountains for a while.
Problem: it looks like some terrible airbrushed thing that you'd seen on a t-shirt at the mall. Like seriously, I hate how smooth it is. But when I make my brushes bigger, I lose a lot of detail. To distract from the shiny smoothness, I tried putting crap in the background, and then got frustrated, and resorted to my usual tactic. I SEE A BACKGROUND AND I WANT IT PAINTED BLACK.
If you give me good suggestions, I will love you forever.
EDIT: Adam is now greyscale & more textured with a circuit board background. Is it better?

and i like the other one too
also the background also works because of the glowyness
if you were to make a background may be you could have wires coming out of his back and they could be going off in the distance
or they could be all tangled up
or they could be attached to a machine

I like how you think! Tried a machine, but it got too detailed, so simplified it into a circuit board
