Episode art as promised! Bulk Biceps was such an awesome addition to the episode haha. Heck, a lot of things were.Rainbows, rainbows everywhere! I wanted to do this environment when I saw it, the location is pretty awesome, located on those plateau, buildings scattered across the mountains.
Nice and all, but oh my did it give me problems getting this started as you can see in the WIP. Environments and architecture and this in general needs some practice. Still not entirely happy with it, but a lot more happy than when I started.
So many colours though...
Eventually included Bulk, wanted to put a bit of pony in it as well, directly hinting to the episode, since the buildings might not have been enough.

The first thing I notice are the colors, and I love how vibrant and lively they all are. They almost have a glowing quality to them. The trees and grass are fantastic as well. I also really like the lighting on this piece, how some places are bright and others, like just behind Derpy, are dark. The smaller details, like the water spray, the color shards on the bottom left and the fact that Bulk seems to be looking at Derpy make this piece even better.Β Thank you for another wonderful piece AssasinMonkey. The ones on the middle are a bit rushed ponies flying. Wasn't sure what colours to choose for the random ponies hehe. Maybe I could've gone with more show characters. Something for next time.

It is so different from the drawings we usually see with rainbows. They are usually represented as the "classic" archs in the sky. But as real fluid falls... I don't remember another show where they looked like this. I'm happy that you got the idea of making a piece with that in mind. It makes an awesome work which is visually wonderful, obviously colorful and the idea of putting Bulk Biceps is really good. There was not much of fanart of him. But I'm sure since he speaked, he won't be longer remembered as the "Yeah!" pony.

They are really thinking inside the chimney when it comes to rainbows. From pony to drinks to rainbow falls hehe. Bulk Biceps really deserves a bigger spotlight after this episode, his parts were gold haha. I definitely wouldn't mind to see him return again. So many characters to like!

It's amazing how a lot of artists are able to make something so quickly and have it looking so beautiful. I envy that a bit, due to my short attention span.

Hehe, thanks! At one point I did almost abandon the entire idea and switch over to a simple character. I'm happy I didn't and stuck with it and finished this piece.

Strong triangular shape in the background to draw focus on Bulk
If I had to come with a suggestion it would be to either push the midground sligthly backwards,
or draw the forground on the left a bit closer. For the sake of stronger depth.

getting that balance in terms of foreground, background, midground, all those grounds, is definitely one of those things I've got to focus and practice with a bit.

It was the best excuse I'd probably get to actually make him. He's so unique in body shape hehe, wanted to make him before simply for that already. So although he's not the biggest focus, still fun to include him.
