New addition for my Season 6 Episode Art!Season 6, Episode 1 & 2: The Crystalling

And so it begins again, making MLP episode art! (So, spoilers ahoi) Every Saturday Stream when I can, from start to finish in a single session. Something I started doing since season 4, and I guess haven't stopped since then. Keeps me active quite a bit hah, and with an interesting challenge of figuring out how to make a scene that's based on something directly which is made in a completely different style
At first I thought I'd make just Sunburst, then I chose a scene... then more stuff happened. Then the hours went up working on this piece... although in the end, not too bad. For some reason some stuff just... happened. Where I said I was thinking about doing something and my pen just already bothered to make it before I could finish thinking about whether to make it or not!
If only that'd happen all the time
Anyhow. The episodes were pretty great, what an entry for the season hah. I guess that was to be expected. Fresh character highlights, Spike being pretty awesome, Applejack, some canon/headcanons getting shattered, some Applejack, some comedic moments, but that baby, though haha. Wow.
Overal, a good enjoyable experience. Does feel fast... but that's maybe more because I was "suddenly" thrown into episode art earlier than expected. I kinda wanted to be able to not miss some because of conventions... but alas, those will have to become midweek streams. D:

I just love how you painted Sunburst! He's my new favorite pony lately...
I think the only criticism I could make, which is not even a thing, but... is that his goatee looks slightly like hair being blown from behind him. But other than that, this is such a beautiful painting!

Excellent work! I love Applejack as much as you, but it's also good to see your episode art again!
I liked the premiere too. It wasn't as good as most of the other premieres, but it certainly wasn't bad either. Starlight getting a Plot B for her own while the Mane Six dealed with Plot A was an interesting choice. We already knew Starlight regretted her past actions, but now we got to see more of her regret and self-doubt and I think it was pulled off quite well. Sunburst was an interesting character as well - about time we got a character who knows a lot about something but can't actually do the things he knows so much about. That should lead to some fascinating stories, assuming that he won't get reduced to a mere background pony, of course.
So Flurry Heart is the first naturally born Alicorn in Equestria, eh? That actually makes perfect sense to me, since we can be almost 100% sure that Celestia and Luna weren't born in Equestria. Equestria was founded by the leaders of the three pony tribes, after all, and the royal sisters were nowhere to be seen back then. Remember, some time after Equestria was founded, Discord appeared and ruled over it until Celestia and Luna discovered the Elements of Harmony and defeated him. After that, I assume they were made Equestria's new rulers by the grateful ponies who had suffered under Discord's tyranny. We still know pretty much nothing about where Celestia and Luna came from, but I think it's safe to say they existed before Equestria was founded, since they already looked exactly the same as they do now when they beat Discord. And yes, I know there are some books or comics or whatever about their origins, but I don't consider those canon until they've been confirmed in the show itself. Perhaps this season will finally explain all the Alicorn lore so there will be no more room for doubt. I don't care if my headcanons get destroyed as long as we'll finally get an official explanation.
My final judgement: 8.5/10.
