Description
So different the piece for this episode compared to previous. Nice experiment, though I don't think I'm exactly happy with the result... *cough*failure*cough*Much things to tackle, from architecture (still one of my main weaknesses) to simply a city scape, night time and rain combined. Fun to play around with though.
Such changes differ a bit from my take on daylight scenes, would've needed to spend a lot more time in this, but I felt this wasn't the piece to do that with.

I like the feeling you put into this painting. I can just imagine the cold rain and how miserable Rarity fells both from it and her mood. The lighting is great both in the window scene and the background. The gray, cold, damp sad atmosphere just settles into you and makes you long for warmth and companionship. I think its great work!!Β

maybe her muzzle or eyes are a little weird
but the whole execution is beautiful, and the feeling is efficiently conveyed by the light and Rarity.

I like the lighting and the gloomy storm feel. Not all pony pictures need to be "Sunshine and Rainbows". You say your not happy with it .....But I think you got the feel established....Go with it!

Really, I love this. The rain, the light, Rarity's expression and posture - it's so full of atmosphere and mood.
(And "failure"? I don't think it's even possible to use that word in the description of a picture such as this. I can understand that, being the artist, see room for change and further improvement, perhaps even that you're unhappy with what you perceive as flaws - we're all our own worst critics, after all -, but failure? No, this painting's anything but! On the contrary, it's an excellent piece, and I think you have every right and reason to be proud of it.)
