Description New addition for my Season 6 Episode Art!
Season 6, Episode 5: Guantlet of Fire
For more info on my episode art: MLP:FIM Season 5 Episode Art Streams

This episode.... So much stuff! A lot of it making me want to finally get to my plans of making dragons for my FCW universe. I wanted to make them for a while now, but for different reasons never really did. But now there's this episode. With quite a few scenes I could've made. Next week there won't be a new ep. so maybe I'll just take a different scene from this one to make then.

Anywho, the culture was quite interesting to see, although some things were slightly unanswered. Where are the big dragons? Too greedy with their stashes to risk losing them by coming? Or are they feral, or w/e? Not really bad or anything, but just interesting to think about as well. The new stuff they did show was quite something. Magic stones, creatures, locations, dragons, leadership, hierarchy, etc. And Spike.

So, I quite enjoyed this one, fun exploring new stuff. Was also funny to see Twilight having that reaction as well. Reflecting some of the viewers thoughts maybe. Which Ember (nice character btw.) Also did by questioning how Rarity and Twi even got through all the challenges...
Pony magic OP.

This art piece, though... I kinda stumbled and struggled I don't even know what my plan was with the sky, I just kinda... left it where I somehow ended up at. get the other stuff going and just hope it covers it haha. New characters, with somewhat awkward features, in a tricky perspective... not what I had planned for today but oh well, hope it still turned out alrighty!

Hope y'all enjoyed the episode, and my little art for it.

Approx Time: 12-13 hours

Once more, you have outdone yourself with this piece of Princess Ember and her father, Dragon Lord Torch, in regards to the Gauntlet of Fire, as Ember proves to her father that a dragon does not have to be big and strong like him to become the Dragon Lord as he originally thought. As long as you have many of the other traits, like being smart and cunning, that still qualifies you for becoming the next Dragon Lord

The detail is amazing, and seeing as how this took a lot of effort and struggle to get done, you have my utmost respect for such an amazing final outcome for the latest in your episode artwork for the latest season of Friendship is Magic!!!

Seems like your struggles were not in vain as your product came out quite well. I can really appreciate the art style here. Really separates the usual show style many other artist tend to emulate so this really stood out when I saw it.

Firstly the attention to detail is spectacular. My eyes immediately goes looking at both Dragon Lord Torch and Princess Ember then to the world that surrounds them. The fact the background looks so dark really favors this piece the dark sky and the mountains establishes an intense mood for the audience (although people unfamiliar with the show will be lost through context but this is obviously geared towards fans of the show).

Next the characters themselves. I really appreciate the amount of detail on them as well between the lighting on their scales to make them stand out from the dark background to even the effort you put into detailing the dragon armor on Torch. I love the smoothness of the lines here especially the curves on Ember like her wings and lower body. It really helps with the anatomy which since these are cartoon dragons doesn't need to be realistically accurate, but still looks nice anyway. Torch looks very formidable here. Judging by his expression and his body posture represent his terrifying and overwhelming aura, especially with his size contrast with Ember you really feel like he's a powerful dragon as he should be depicted. Ember herself looks really cool the way you drew her in. Her facial expression just screams determination despite Torch's terrifying aura. That in of itself can leave a really good impression on those that see her bravery.

In conclusion this is a really good art piece of the latest episode. The background is really fitting given the situation. The details all fit into place and are appealing to look at and both Torch and Ember have a place here and represent something. Overall a really drawing.

They need to go back to see what has happened with Ember and all the other dragons again. I thought that was an interesting episode, seeing into another world and all

Holy, epic-ally wondrous! Dragon Lord Torch and Princess Ember are stunning and The Mountainside Landscape looks incredible! The designs, expressions, poses, mountains, staff, armor, wings, horns, spikes, eyes, sky, clouds, cliffs, ledges, movement, interaction, magic, atmosphere, hues, textures, concept, composition, uniqueness, colors, lighting, style, and other details are also wonderful! Amazingly radical work!

I love your art Assassin, but this time I feel the way you dealt with perspective and framing made Torch look small, like he's only five times as big as Ember. Sorry, just what I see ):

You drew so beautiful! You had changed plane animation into stereoscopic animation.  And you drew the art take only 12-13 hours? You are amazing. So... I want to report it on a Chinese website to share with my friend! Could I? If you don't mind, I will put your url on the Chinese website.

In the past, I've always pictured The Dragon Lands to be like Canada(my home country) and Equestria to be more like the U.S..

But NOW, after seeing this episode, I may have to rethink that. While Equestria seem to be living in modern times, The Dragon Lands seem to be stuck in the time of Conan The Barbarian(The Bronze Age?).

I like Princess Ember, too! Hopefully, we'll see more of her.

"Also did by questioning how Rarity and Twi even got through all the challenges..."

Easy, they TELEPORTED!

Dragons in general have no need for fancy tech because, well, they're freakin' dragons! Only somepony crazy would outright fight a dragon. All the dragons mainly needed was some decent armor, and the occasional powerful stone/artifact to boost their already titanic abilities.

This is a lovely image.  I think you've caught the desolation of the land, the raw size and power of Dragonlord Torch, and the daintyness of Ember, all in one view.  Excellent, as always.

Lovely work on how you have Torch's daughter standing up to her father, proving herself as the new Dragon Lord and also getting him to reassess his views on what makes a good leader. "Scale" is pretty key in the title, and I think you did an excellent job choosing a distance and making it show so that we could get a good view of both, accentuating Torch's size and power (especially with his expression and strong body language). Dragon Lord Ember looks strong and confident, more than ready to defend her new title if need be. Awesome work on their designs and especially their depth individually as well as relatively. Seriously, her father is pretty much an entire detailed mountainside in itself.

He is a really big dragon, with black clouds in the sky, reminds me of the Cataclysm.

Oh? The bigger ones... hmm... I wonder where they are? But it's also strange that crooked volcano looks small for smaller dragons to go in, bigger ones may probably destroy the whole place.

As for the bigger dragons, I guess they didn't really care? Maybe they don't want the Dragonlord yelling at them, so they don't even bother.
