This was such a great episode, a great last one by Amy Keating Rogers. She has given has awesome stuff, and may she be making even more awesome work with her next projects. It was a joy to watch, and to listen to the music. Which pushed me to make this piece. Also fun to have an episode with Lena Hall! Awesome voice for sure. I hope she enjoys officially being a pony now!
The light setting in this scene, though. When I started working on this I was worried about my approach, and I think the one I went with wasn't the most optimal approach, but I guess it worked? I need to do some more heavy spotlight pieces in this style.
Doesn't help I added that second butt light source to it
(technicaly a 3rd on the other side). Her hair was puzzling me when I tried to translate it into this perspective, but that's usually with new ponies and designs.In the end, it remains a Saturday stream, so a single session piece where time is somewhat limited. So depending on what I make, I can do more, but I always think back to what I did in previous ones.
Either way, it allows me to have different fun every week!
Talking about week... next one is going to probably going to be crazy, I might go into hiding until then...

This is so beautiful! The impact when it first hit me was especially dazzling and tragically ponderous. The lighting, the tears, the glow of her mark... everything was perfect. I especially love her expression and the piano idea! The texture of the tears drawn on her face was very realistic and /shiny/. This really gives off a feeling that music can change hearts and make people feel. Really, this is perfect.
The only defect in this art is the hair, especially at the front, with the curls. The texture doesn't really feel right, like the hair is molded out of plastic. I personally think that the sheen on the hair might've enhanced that defect, since the tail doesn't really show much characteristics. Other than that, everything is really good! I love your art. =3=

OK I don't normally do Critique since I am not an artist myself so what I say is merely coming from someone who admires this artwork rather than someone who truly understands exactly how much time and effort went into creating it but I love this work so much and the artist has asked for it to be reviewed I have decided I shall honor his wish and do my best to critique it.
OK first of all the detail in the picture is amazing, not over the top to the point that you can count the hairs on her mane but enough that you can make it all out with no trouble at all from her beautiful dress to even seeing her cutie mark through the light effect.
Secondly is the emotion, I look at this picture and I am reminded of the scene from My Little Pony when she is singing from her heart, every word she utters has meaning for both herself and for Applejack and the tears that fall from her eyes are the tears of joy because at last she is singing as herself and not behind some alter ego.
Finally the color scheme is something I will find hard to explain - All the colors when you separate theme are bland, almost dark but together they shine brightly creating this aura about it as if the picture could come alive and just continue to sing.
All in All this artwork is simply amazing, it captures the magic of the moment and brings it to life like very few pieces of art are able to accomplish - To put it simply if you are a fan of My Little Pony, A Fan of Coloratura or just a fan of incredible artwork then I highly recommend you click favourite and share this with everyone you know (If you haven't already)

From the very first storyboard, we all knew this song was going to be so special! And your art is the culmination of how far it has come, in terms of art and style and execution! Words fail to describe how emotional Ra-Ra is, tears streaming down her face as she expresses her true self so elegantly and melodically! And how her cutie mark doesn't "dazzle", it glows by itself, the way Ra-Ra was meant to. Like a star, her cutie mark shines brightest when it's in the dark by itself. And everything just captures its light, her highlights, her tears, even the piano! As always, you give "My little Pony" paintings such life, it's almost like magic!

First off, your water detail is amazing. It looks real without looking like either glue, oil, or plastic.
So good on you for that.
Second, the angle is unique. I have seen several pieces like this that use a "on top of piano" perspective, perhaps because drawing piano keys that would fit the dimensions of a hoof is difficult, but you pulled it off. Nothing against those pieces, but this angle allows for a fuller picture.
Third, said angle allows you to show the cutie mark, which you did brilliantly. Literally. You can JUST see her cutie mark underneath the gleam, and the way her tears of joy have the same gleam, it really gives the impression that the magic is everywhere, not just on the flank.
Finally, I appreciate your use of gold in the gleam, to contrast the blue color wash. It's a classic color combo, and you put it to excellent use here.
In summation, you never cease to amaze, because you take the simple and make it radiant, showing that less is more and that the magic is everywhere.

Words don't even begin to describe this. You have done a wonderful job. You always do. The colors, the lighting, the shading, her tears, her cutie mark... The list just goes on and on. I'm glad you were able to capture so much beauty.
This has become my new favorite episode of the series. Not only because of the introduction of a new character, as well as Lena Hall's performance, but because of the music and the writing. Amy Rogers Keating has given the fans so much. I'm glad she could go out on such a high note. She will be missed.

I am afraid that my critique is not going to be very helpful, since nearly all I have for you and your work is praise alone.
I adore everything about this painting: from to the technique itself, through the color pallet, which emphasizes the mood of the scene, to the perspective you used. I especially love the way Rara’s Cutie Mark shines and the warm glow the light gives to the mare’s mane.
If I really have to complain about something, I will go with composition, since the bottom part of the picture seems a lot busier that the relatively empty top half. However, that is just plain nitpicking and overthinking on my side.
Overall, this is one of the best digital paintings I have seen recently and I love your My Little Pony FanArts (I hope that in future you will spoil us with some more of your original content, though).

Admittedly this is probably my second favourite of Coloratura but by no means does that make it bad - I absolutely love this piece and I doubt that there is anyone who can give this a bad word
