New addition for my First Contact War universe.I've been wanting to make the Windigos, and with Nightmare Nights soon, this kinda felt fitting. I guess I'll also just add them to FCW while I'm at it. I believe they're some of the oldest, intangible forces out there. Kinda like the elements.
This one went by kinda fast. Had more focus on the composition, rather than the detail. I also kinda deliberately made sure I didn't have to make a lot of environment
Anyhow, have an equine ghost horse death freezie thingie.
I guess I used, horse and equine in one sentence there.
Wonder if the Gryphons have an equivalent...

I like to think the Windigoes have spectral bodies that have temperature auras close to Absolute Zero. The unending winters they create are perilous, but if you were ever foolish or unlucky enough to get engulfed by one, you'd be frozen solid instantly.

I was thinking this could be the way to end MLP:FIM.ย Have the entire last season dedicated to the Windigo and how they are able to take down and freeze the Mane 6 one by one leaving Twilight Sparkle with only one hope left in the end.ย This is when the Human Mane 6 have to come to Equestria to save them all.ย

They're supposed to be terrified. Shrink their pupils more.
Currently they look sad, not stricken.
Also curl the backs/video
Bodies in more. Like that feeling you get at night if they're spiders all over the ground and you know their right behind you/above your head.
They should look like those in a panicked terrified death at their heels kind of pose

Oh man I've been print these in a role play system in building and their terrifying.
Though I've been making them without lower jaws and constantly leading icey fog from their throats and noses.

My gosh! You really put the emphasis on scared ponies. It looks awesome even for a quickly drawn piece. The composition does everything.
I reckon that the Windigos must be feared by griffin as well, since they are bad entities fueling on bad emotions. But I'm sure in their folklore they must have an equivalent.

Not gonna do a full critique since, as you have pointed out, its a quick piece.
I imagine, Windigos would be pretty scary to ponies, not simply because they are incredibly dangerous, but because they represent the bad old days, before the Three tribes found together.
Ponies probably grow up with horrorstories told about the long winter before the Founding...

This scenario, expressions and all, is something I could imagine being a focus on the show (not just them floating ice horses neither, but a full blown spectral horse with terrifying powers like this one). That would be epic, imo

I always loved the spirits of the Windigos. They always seem overlooked in favor of more conventional monsters. But the power of hatred and the cold... It is not to be trifiled with. Up here in Alaska, we understand that more than most.
Beyound that, they are spirits. Their very form glows and flickers with raw power. Hatred flows through their shapeless forms, sending ice cold magic pulsing through their hooves and flowing out their legs. Their scream heralds the end of warmth, end of hope. It is a predator, and the emotions of the ponies are it's prey.
You captured it really well here. Little else I can say, but I feel the awe and fear they should inspire. I love Windigos, and this is best version I've ever seen.

Even though it's equine it isn't quite aligned with ponies. I mean, it's freezing some right there. Griffons live in higher altitudes and might be better equipped against icy foes like this, perhaps.
