Description
Several people have been asking me for a ref sheet for awhile now so I felt like just throwing one together finally.I included notes about his design and things I always think about when I draw him and the reasons for those decisions.
The only thing I probably didn't mention in this is the desaturated colours for Dantes are referenced from the Discord episode where he "discords" the mane six because in the animatics Dantes' Loyalty is betrayed and it was just supposed to be a subtle reference to RD losing her loyalty.
I'll make ones for the other characters and the other versions of Dantes if that's something people are interested in. Might make it available to Patrons first for a day or so before posting it here.

Ah, the original story is amazing and adding the mlp cast to it makes it interesting for sure. The animation for all this is very well done, I'm a sucker for rough sketch styles. Can't wait for the final stuff.

This really helps paint a better picture in my head about Dantes. And I find that you mention what the colors mean very...interesting. I always thought his red coat meant a passion of hatred, and his faded mane meant the years that went by had taken his toll on him. His grey-ish fur makes sense on one end, yet could it be that his soul has left him as an empty cold shell? If so, I am rather pleased you kept his eyes the same color, representing, as you quoted, his old self, and with it, his life. What I am trying to say is, well done! Your art, never ceases to amaze me, and I shall wait as long as I must for Part 6 of your animatic.

This animatic actually introduced me to The count of Monte Cristo, I absolutely love this!! Actually, you also introduced me to Jekyll and Hyde the musical, I got the soundtrack because of you!
I'm thinking of making a My little pony based animatic on the song "Good for you" From "Dear Evan Hansen". Do you you could maybe give me a few tips? I just love the way your animatics play out!

Thank you! Hmmm tips, I'd say watch a bunch of different animations/animatics and figure out what it is about them you like exactly or maybe disliked. Was there a particular transition or shot that really stood out to you? Did they convey an emotion or mood well? How? Study different styles, learn about film techniques. As my teachers often said "Learn the rules so you can break them" (You have to have a clear understanding about the do's and don't's then you can break them when it's justified).
I good exercise to do to understand some film techniques is to watch a scene from a movie and then storyboard it. (Pause the clip every time it changes a shot then draw a thumbnail sketch quickly and continue).
Otherwise don't get hung up about making it perfect. Finishing something is better than constantly redoing a project.
