Description It was a little cloudy out, but I managed to get this photo before more clouds rolled in. I don't know if it will be of the same quality as my first "waxing gibbous" photo, but I still like it. Also, I've noticed the large crater on the bottom has lines radiating from it. That must have been one HELL of an impact. It's seen better on full moon photos, but it's still visible here. Makes me wonder: what the hell hit it? And what would have happened to us if we got hit by whatever made that?

This is a very good one! Very soft and quite pleasing to the eye. Getting closer to the full moon phase. Great capture!

thank you very much! Unfortunately, I won't get a shot at the full moon this time, due to bad weather

I am so sorry about the weather forecast for your area. Who knows, the weather guys may be wrong and you'd get a chance to photograph La Luna in her full moon phase. Do you think you'd be able to do it between clouds (as long as there is a long, clear break between clouds)? La Luna will be in her full moon phase on Tuesday.

well, the full moon for me is on Monday, and we are supposed to get rain (and possible thunder ), for the next 3 days. So, I don't think I'll have a shot at it this time. But I will be keeping an eye on the sky that night.

I think it would be interesting to photograph La Luna not only when the night sky is completely clear but with clouds, storm, lightning, or whatever Mother Nature has in store. (Not when it is raining.) Kind of like La Luna peeking through the break in clouds. But I truly understand and respect your desire to photograph La Luna on a perfectly clear night so that you'd capture her surface details.

You're welcome! I've got no idea of how you took it, because I find it really hard to take pictures of the moon Great work

Olympus X-915, but the moon is kind of far away

Ok, that's why. My camera has an 80x zoom level, while yours only has a 5x zoom level. Plus I'm using a tripod too.

I'm still a beginner in photography
And wow 80x is a lot...yours is more of a telescope haha.

sometimes it looks like a telescope

and I'm a beginner too. I still don't know what half the photography terms mean, I usually just mess around with the cameras settings until I get the photo I want, and sometimes I'm outside taking photos of the moon for hours just hoping to get a good photo.

Hehe awesome
I think being a good photographer isn't about knowing all the specs and technicisms, but knowing how to capture the moment and express what you want.
