Well, here’s the next entry into the “Gestalt Project” Combaticons, Swindle. Try not to laugh. I know this has to be the most ridiculous repaint idea to date, in principal at least. I took the one of the TWO 100% ARCTIC transformer vehicles in…EVER (as far as my mind can remember, the only other one being the Minicon Iceburg/Armorhide), and what did I do? I gave it a DESERT color scheme. Call me crazy. Yeah, well…I’m sure you could use…things with tank treads and skis…in the sand…maybe…probably… D’ah well. See, the problem is, Transformers seriously lack good ‘offroad’ truck type vehicles. At least in the Deluxe size department. Much less an all-terrain desert military jeep like swindle’s supposed to be. Oh sure, there’s Strong Arm, he’s absolutly perfect, but he’s freaking too small. So in terms of the Deluxe sized Energon and Armada figures, I was kinda screwed. I was originally gonna use Armada Smokescreen, because it looks a little like a heavily armored, all terrain truck, and it has a huuuuuuge cannon/crane on it, but…it just didn’t feel quite right. On a crazy whim, I tried his scheme on Snow Cat, the only other possible choice really. Again, it doesn’t quite fit, but it looks like a convincing enough Combaticon for me. Does it make a good Swindle Homage? I don’t know. I got so frustrated with this one, that I just tried to GET a finished product, knowing nothing I did would be perfect. Hopefully I got as close as possible with the given molds I had. (*Damn…I’m just now thinking I should have tried his colors on Armada Prime maybe…just to see how it would work…d’ah well, too late now, heh*)
