Description
Wow! I finally did it!!!I've waited so long to get a picture of my cat yawning, and I actually pulled it off!
It was actually quite a coincidence how it happened... I wasn't even expecting it, and this was the only picture I got.
It happened so fast though, I didn't have time to zoom out and capture his entire face- I only got his mouth.
Hope you enjoy it anyway!

I quite like that you've only caught it's mouth. Gives the picture more impact. Well done!

Wow! that is the best photo I have seen in a very long time! Awesome that you captured this moment so well. I just love how you can see all the textures on the tongue. Your cat has a very elegant mouth

That's fantastic! The detail in its tongue is amazing.
Congrats on finally getting the shot!
By the way, I think this is more suited for Animals, Plants & Nature > Dogs & Cats.

The photo is good like it is. With this photo you dont have to see the whole face to be a good photo. the texture of the tongue is amazing.

LOL! wow... okay... well... great shot, very sharp and well captured. Patience pays off, this is certainly the most unique cat pic I've ever seen. Probably a commercialy viable pic too, sell it as some sought of mouse deterent for people to use in their homes.

LOL! great shot....may have to try that.... I keep trying to get my kittie while she is being crazy in her tree.... but the red light my camera uses for low light keeps notifiing her that I am shooting...
more light.... that's the ticket.....

Right, my ISO was pretty high when I shot this.
Cats (or any animal for that matter) is hard to photograph b/c they never stay still...

heh.... thats for darn sure....just when they are doing somthing great.....no camera near by...and the cat always has to follow me around the house..... often she starts meowing when she does not see me for a while....

most compact and dSLR flashes that have focusing assist lights allow you to disable it in the menu and/or if you swap to manual focus. depends on the model and brand.
Try disabling it but you'll have to manually focus and decide exposure in that case.

yep... thats true... but sweetie... that's not flash....thats the low light assist... and the cat can see it.... we barely can....
