This is a picture of Freedom and Maple, characters from my story 'For Freedom', drawn by SaynaSLuke . Freedom is the main character, and Maple is her best friend and an important secondary character. And yes, Freedom is the same character that appears in the epilogue of 'Triss' and she is female there even though the character in 'Triss' is male. This is because I began to plan this story after I read Russian edition of 'Triss', where Freedom’s gender was changed into female. I learnt that Freedom originally is male way later, but to that moment, I just couldn’t imagine my character being male.

Appearance: Freedom is a little grey-furred mousemaid with white underbelly and green eyes, as well as a small nick in one of her ears. The clothes she wears are simple and practical; she is particularly often seen in a medium-length green dress.

Weapon(s) of choice: Short rapier, sling

Personality: Freedom is a very energetic and lively maiden; despite her youth, she went through enough hardships but remained unbroken. Freedom is always ready for action and eager to help others. However, she also tends to be short-tempered and often rushes into the trouble headfirst, preferring to act first and think later.

Appearance: Maple is a small red-furred squirrel with cream underbelly and light brown eyes and fluffy tail. He wears dark blue shirt and breeches that allow him to move quickly among the branches.

Weapon(s) of choice: Sling, dagger

Personality: Maple is a very thoughtful beast with almost philosophical outlook who is prone to deep observations and often sees what other beasts cannot. He is very kind and friendly and tries to see the better in everything. While he is not a pushover, Maple is also more passive and hesitant, primary because he doesn't like acting without a good plan.
