Heh... sorry if I disappointed any Batman (the superhero) fans; the title on this is a little deceiving.

This is a very sentimental piece for me... I almost cry everytime I look at it. To make a long story short, about 4 or 5 months ago my boyfriend gave me a kitten, my favourite one out of his litter that his cat Mrs. Norris had. I named him Batman because he looked like he was wearing Batman's mask and tall black ears like Batman. I loved him dearly. However, my parents strictly told me NO MORE CATS INSIDE... So they made me put him in our barn to be a poor little barn cat (which no cat should ever have to do). He was a very scared little kitten and would hide in his little bed I made him up there. I would go to see him and feed him everyday; he would always be waiting for me. He would run up to me and I'd pick him up and he'd lick me and purrrrr. I even snuck him into the house one night and he slept in my room with me. I loved him so much... But one day I went up to the barn and he wasnt there... I searched for him forever but I never found him. I KNOW he didnt run away because he was always terrified to leave the barn. It was the only home he knew... and he waited for me there every day. A wild dog or something must have killed him... *mourns*

So I've been suffering since that awful day; I felt like a part of me died. Cats are like people to me... And I believe that no cat should ever have to step foot outside into the harsh world. They should be kept safe in a loving home. I miss my Batman so much...

There is lots of symbolism going on in this picture, but the main thing I'm trying to express is this: I feel responsible for his death. His life was in my hands and I left him to die. I left him night after night in a cold barn in the cruel, open world... A vulnerable, precious little kitten; now lost forever. ...I will never forget him...

I hope you all like this picture; It was so hard to do because I had to look back at pictures I had taken of him for reference. I even took the time to colour this which is something I very rarely do.
