Sorry to those who hate fan art. I know Naruto is kinda overrated, but there really is so much depth to the characters and story."Way back, I used to hate Sasuke... But once I got used to being with him I realized he's really a lot of fun... to be around...he's the person that, more than anyone else, accepted me and my existence. Sasuke is my friend... and he represents bonds that I waited so long to receive, so that's why... still that's not much reason... no if it means facing someone like Orochimaru... If my arms get ripped off, I'll just kick him to death. If my legs get ripped off, I'll just bite him to death. If my head gets ripped off, I'll just stare him to death, and if my eyes get ripped out I'll just curse him to death. Even if it means getting torn into pieces, I'm going to take Sasuke back from Orochimaru no matter what!"
the battle of the valley of the end made me
Since the episode where they will finally be face to face is coming, I thought it would be appropriate to post this.
I think Sasuke is such a bastard for what he did. However, because of what is happening in the manga I'm feeling kinda sorry for him. I'll tell ya something, my eyes were really glassy when I was painting this. And of course it didn't help that I was listening to Sadness & Sorrow from the soundtrack.
So sad
and now I leave you with my favorite qoutes on friendship that I think really apply to those two.

This is just so beautiful in that you were able to capture all those emotions in Naruto's expression and eyes, not to mention the supposedly 'blank' look that Sasuke has just seems to portray more than what meets the eye (as if the sadness and the darkness of everything is just so overwhelming that everything that has come crashing down on him inside has left him feeling dead). The dark tone, the positioning of the two boys, the shading, and the absolute detail you put into the realism of both Naruto and Sasuke (not to mention the 'whiskers' on Naruto's cheeks; how I love that they look like scars instead of a birthmark!) is just phenomenal. I love how you quoted the battle of the valley of the end and summed it up somewhat and provided those two other quotes about friendship. Both of those other quotes fit in nicely with their scenario. I can't even begin to imagine how long this must have taken you complete!
Either way, great job! I just love this!

Adore the eyes in this. I love art where Naruto's expression is very open and emotional and Sasuke's is hidden or masked in some way. Just the juxtaposition of Naruto's direct gaze with Sasuke's stoic staring-at-nothing speaks volumes about the characters and their relationship.

wow great fan art. You know the bonds between Naruto and Sasuke reminds me of my old friend. In other words I'm like Naruto and my other friend is Sasuke. My friend moved on and left me in the dust. But I know that bond that I we used to have is not yet broken. It's still there. And I bet my friend knows that too. That's why if you had a best friend and betrayed you. that friend knows that you were his friend.

ah. . . I'm not sure what number it was. But he said it to Sai right before they went back in to Orochimaru's lair. Sakura, their captain and him had captured Sai outside and he was explaining why he went so far for Sasuke. Emotional I know. *sniff*

I think Naruto is just a victim of popularity, cos honestly for a young author like Kishimoto the manga is pretty damn good, with amazing characters.
