lmao! I know it's a little late, but the idea assailed me at an odd time... One in the morning to be exact!!

Amaterasu is a lower level technique, isn't it? I would think he would be using becuase tsukuyomi used a lot of chakra... Oh no. This train of thought is worrying me. O_O

Both techniques drain his chakra too much. Used one after another might have a very bad effect on his condition. Remember what happened last time he used them both? He needed some time to rest. Only that he has no time here, because Sasuke will never give him it. The combined effect of Amaterusu and Tsukuyomi on his body might be compared to the effects of the technique that both, Lee and Gai, use. Both techniques are powerful, that's true, but if they don't work in the way they should, they put the one who has used them under heightened danger due to side effects of this techniques.
Logical way of the fight should be: easy techniques - more complicated and powerful tecnhiques - even more comlicated and powerful techniques - the most powerful and complicated techniques. Of course, seing that your opponent is very skilled, you might start from a bit higher level or you can lower it in the opposite situation. When the other person's skills are uknown you can use some easy tricks to test them. But you definitely shouldn't start from the end and use your most powerful technique too quickly. Yet Itachi is skipping the levels, ignoring what is happening and underestimating his own brother apparently. And as much as I hate to say it, it is a big mistake that might cost him his life

*nods head* That's where my train of thought was, I'm just not quite smart enough to put it into words... =_=
I forgot exactly what happened after back then, although I knew it wasn't anything good. O_o But then you also have to wonder, Sasuke's been training and becoming stronger, who says Itachi hasn't gotten stronger? But then he could have also gotten weaker from using the mangekyo. In the end, we don't know what he was doing during that two year gap in storyline, so in a sense, we have no true idea of his abilities.
I'm clinging to anything I can, and from my point of view, this fight could go either way. It's still completely up in the air.
