I don't see how its funny. to me its a beautiful and diverse world that still has yet to be explored. They Call it the boring planet? I don't think so... FAR from it. It has one of the most interesting formation times and unusual magnetic fields. A massive system of moons as diverse as Jupiter or Saturn, and very interesting and complex clouds if you look at them in the right light. amazing seasons that leaves north or south pole in dark or day for 42 years on, because my goodness it is sideways.
yes, i am talking about the planet Uranus.

Ive always had a soft spot for the planet Uranus. <3 Though it never helped that people couldn't see past its name.
When i was younger i dreamed of a spacecraft that would explore this planet in a Galileo styled mission. though nothing has actually happened. uranus was only explored once in 1986 by a spacecraft named Voyager 2, it was only a flyby using vintage 1970s technology, and we have not gone back. At that time only the South pole of the moons could be seen as they were in daylight. we still have yet to see the North pole. We better get there before we cant see it again and have to wait 84 years for it to come around again. D :

In this picture the Herschel spacecraft flies past a major moon of Uranus named Miranda. i strongly beleave that the moons of uranus will be far more interesting then what the Voyager 2 saw. We thought the moons of jupiter and saturn were boring too, until we went back to see.

Cryovolcanic plumes on Miranda anyone?
