I would think that it would be a bit difficult to camouflage if there is red amongst all that black...
I like the way you've selectively coloured it so that the main subject matter stands out more. It's quite cool how the background is pretty blurry as well, and the vignette helps us to centre our attention on what is most important.
Part of me feels that it would be better to crop this into a square to minimize the negative space, but.. eh.

Yeah the red really makes them stand out. Though I don't recall seeing them in the winter so perhaps they try to blend in with flowers or something lol.
