Pretty awesome picture, I must say! Love the coloring! However, I would suggest you if shade a bit more. I mean, you have the shading on his clothes. But, it seems barely noticeable on his face and his gauntlets. Shade more on his left side of his face and on his neck. You did his hair pretty cool, however, it doesn't seem to have a light source. For example, the light source seems to be coming from his right, and his left is shaded. But Link's entire hair is light. Add more shading to his left. Needs more shading on his left leg and arm.
And if I may suggest, draw a different background, like he's in Faron Woods or an area. The picture would look more appealing if you had a background that indicated where he is at.
Pretty cool job! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l⦠" width="19" height="19" alt="

Ah, I see. I didn't have a clear vision of where I wanted the light source to be in this picture, which is probably why there are some inconsistencies. I think it was supposed to be from the left, however, given his face, sheath, and tunic. I really need to work more on picking one side or the other from the start.
And yeah, the face could have been shaded more. looking back on it, I'm rather ashamed that I practically ignored where his hair covers his cheek. And especially the hair, eugh, quite embarrassing.
I really prefer it without a real background. Although it might look better, Link also looks like of like he's either dancing or floating, either way "caught in the moment" of the music, and so with a more abstract background (although with colors and textures that suggest the forest) I wanted to capture that sort of surreal sensation he's probably feeling.
Thank you for taking the time to critique, and I'll remember those things in the future.

I like your idea about creating an abstract background, because he's being caught in the moment. It makes a whole lot of sense now that I think about it.
You're welcome, dear!

Thank you, but I only colored it, so the pose wasn't my idea.

If I ever have the patience to make a tutorial, I think I might. I'm not very good at it, but I think I could get a few pointers across.
Although your drawing and coloring is very good, too o: and the background is just some colored streaks overlaid with a texture owo but thank you.

It doesnt have to be a full-blown tutorial 0o0 But I'm kinda interested in your process. Hair in my drawings are never really consistent because I always colour it a different way each time. u^u
And thank you uvu;;; Either way, I still like the background >:u

Yeah, I might do a process. but if I did that I might as well focus on the hair and explain the hair... physics? of lighting and shading. Then there's the little details like which brush I use and on which setting.

Yeah? o: But it's just a suggestion, so it's not like you're obligated to do it (so don't feel like you are xD)!! It would still just be interesting to see uvu
Oh, or maybe whenever you did a LiveStream, you could explain what youre doing? o:

Maybe if I feel like it |D
The livestream thing would be kinda interesting. Although I'm kinda awkward at talking over mic, much less explaining over mic (I keep almost writing mike) so it might end up being easier to write/draw an explanation xD
