“I am sorry I don’t know if I trust you yet but can I ask you to cut my hair?” Kyle said with a smirk on his face but deep sadness in his eyes. Jess looked at Kyle and giggled so loudly that everybody turned some even had parts of burgers falling out of their mouths. She was just so shocked
“Why would you want that?”
“Cause I cant eat my burger I keep getting hair in it” Kyle replied laughing it had almost seemed foreign to laugh he felt silly doing it so quickly went back to his burger.

After McDonalds and a lot more dodging questions by Kyle, Jess was getting annoyed with not knowing much of her new friend. Kyle was feeling good a first time in a long time Jess agreed to cut his hair if she was told about how he got the scars.
“I am not ready yet I am sorry” was his only reply
“Alright then if you’re not going to tell me fine then I will walk away” a bluff she was hoping in her head it worked Jess started walking away. In her head she kept telling herself *I can’t look back I can’t*, she felt a tug on her arm and then looked into Kyle’s teary eyes.
“I have had too many people walk away from me I don’t keep that trend”
“Ok you don’t have to tell me I didn’t think it would upset you this much” she said pulling him into a hug, at first Kyle was limp Jess could fit her both arms around him. Kyle returned the hug whispering in her ear.
“I want to tell you”
Jess took Kyle into Starbucks as Kyle told his story she held her coffee, when she ordered she said it was her only addiction but she hadn’t took a sip since Kyle started.
“Now I wished I hadn’t asked I can’t believe you went through all that” jess put her hand over Kyle’s.
“I am just sorry I lived it. I probably could have left some details out but I wear my heart on my tongue and my mouth has been shut for so long it felt good telling someone.” Kyle finally looked up at jess telling the whole story as he looked at his toes. “I wouldn’t be mad if you want to leave now”

Just then a waiter came up the table
“Hey man have you no shoes on? I am sorry I am going to have to ask you to leave for health reasons.” the waiter said pointing to the door.
“You have some nerve after what he has been through …..” Jess said but Kyle grabbed her by the arm and led her put coffee mug still in hand.
“I don’t want my story said about the place please don’t tell anyone.”
“Oh I am sorry I always wanted one of the mugs, I guess now I gotta cut that wonderful hair of yours, you know you look just like Kurt Cobain.” Jess said running her hand through his hair “so soft, but first I am buying you some shoes”

Kyle looked up to feel the rain of summer come down onto his face he loved this feeling it made him feel fresh, for the first time alive. Jess pulled her hood up and pulled Kyle along to the nearest store after trying on loads of pairs pulling down every colour of converse. Kyle smiled at each but seeing the price of the shoes and knowing he had no money he looked around and found a pair of knock offs in purple. “Can I have those?”
“Sure” picking the pair of shoes up and heading for the counter. “You better not have picked these cause they were cheap I would have bought you the others” Kyle just smiled back at her as he turned to the girl at the counter.
“I don’t need a bag I am going to put them on”
