!! IMPORTANT NOTICE !! The pseudo-hedgehog sat in his throne, staring into nowhere out of boredom. Another day, another time to toy around with his souls. He glanced around for a moment, realising something...he's never had a portrait painted of him before. It's what all monarchs have hanging someplace in their throne room, is it not? With a smile forming on his face, he stood up, snapping his fingers.

"Alice!" he called out. The maiden rabbit—the most artistic out of the souls he owned—ran forth into the throne room, quivering from his presence. "I'm in need of a portrait," he demanded, "One that shall make me stand out from all the rest here."

The small rabbit quietly nodded her head. She ran back out, soon returning with an easel, paints, and a costume for his highness to wear. Soon after he dressed himself, the king stood tall and proud so that the bunny could properly use him as a reference. Come several hours, and Alice put her paintbrush down, wiping her brow from cold sweat she had throughout the process. She waited for a moment for the paint to dry, before lifting up the canvas to show the lord.

"So, ah, what do you think, your highness?" she stammered.

The lord stepped down, looking into the portrait. It did show him to his liking.

"...Perfect." He smiled down at the rabbit, ruffling her fur.

"Hey," the rabbit stuttered, "it's your birthday today, is it not? Happy birthday, your highness!"

"Hehehe, thank you," the king cooed. "Now get me a cake. And my seven brothers. And all the other souls. We're to have a big party. Tell the other servants this too, yea? Unless you want your ears slit from that pretty head of yours."

"Right, your highness, on it—!" The rabbit shuddered, immediately running off to start preparing.

happy tenth anniversary to the absolute king himself!! i finally made something and finished it on the day yayyy

i know a lot of people weren't expecting me to make sonic.exe artwork anymore since i mostly draw original works, but little know that this gremlin has a very special place in my heart and has been for years, haha. i also really wanted to experiment more with colouring metallic material as well as shading and texturing using colour in general (for future works, perhaps of warhammer 40K?), so this was the perfect opportunity to do so.

i used a reference to help me out with this, with both the lineart and painting, but nonetheless, i think it's quite suitable for a piece commemorating the tenth anniversary of this lad.
