ahh yeah! oh hey by the way, do you happen to have any tips for drawing canines? i'm trying to learn digital and canines are the main thing i'd like to draw :')

oh yeah ofc! references and a load of practice !! try to get to the point where with everything you draw (even shitposts or sketches) you try something new! as for since youre trying to get into digital krita is pretty good! ive also heard good things about fire alpaca but i use piskel and if you decide to start using that let me know if you want a little bit of help because im defiantly here! also feel free to msg me on disc whenever! another thing id say is not to plan the piece too much out in your head if that makes sense? whenever i do i dont like the results and give up for the day ((idk if thats just me lol do whatever you want) also flip the canvas everytime you do something and if you are unhappy with how something looks redo the thing you are unhappy w ! critique is also VERY helpful so try asking for that while still in wip mode.Β
that was very vague but as for canines adding even circle eyebrows can add a load of expression so that helps

ahh thank you sm!! i'll look into piskel and i just did a side-view of a wolf w/o the head as practice, i'd say it was decently! i was struggling with the front leg while they sat, but i used a reference for it. in general i'd say i'm struggling w/ doing any other view besides side? that's all i've ever done and i'd like to get out of my comfort zone!

ah massive felt something that helps with getting the shapes right would be finding an actual picture of the animal you want to draw and break down the shapes, this helps with understanding how large or small different segments are/ where it goesΒ Β Β Β maybe practice a bit with easier poses while youre learning anatomy ! if you want to show what you drew and get some advice on it lmk! im sure it looks awesome !
