Description
Edit- Just made a few tweaks to this based on crit feedback, thank for that, it was really helpful. So does it look better with the cherry trees in the background or not so good?I'm personally a big fan of the old fashioned traditional Unicorn with the goat features (long ears, feathered legs, cloven hooves, lion-like tufted tails, beards for the guys). This type of Unicorn is the one I always think of and the image i associate with Unicorn lore, historical myths and fairy tales.
Anyways, here's is a pretty little girly to look at
Credit- paper texture was one of Hibbarys!

yay! Thanks for the first time crit, it'a really great!
I think you're right about the legs, the far legs are thicker than the near side ones, I hadn't noticed that!
I did have more foreground detail but it is a bit detracting so took it out. I agree that it could do with something in the background to make it more of an illustration rather than just the unicorn on it's own.
Thank you for the praise too, i wanted a storybook look so glad I was able to capture that feeling

Beautifully rendered. You got the trot down right; though the back leg seems to far off the ground for this kind of trot. The frame is a nice touch as are the flowers. Minor criticism: Maybe a more original unicorn design is called for. All unicorns are naturally white of course and you did add the long tail rather than the horse's tail. But perhaps it could use a few more features to make it stick out amongst unicorn designs.
But honestly, this was done so well that it's hard to critique it. I tried though. Overall: Really well done!

Thank you very much. Yes, you're right, she is a generic Unicorn; though as the Cherry Blossom was an after thought I think I missed the opportunity to make her a bit more unique which would have been nice ^^
Glad you think the trot looks okay, the front left leg should really have been further forward to but it looked a bit ungainly so glad it still looks good (funny how when you look at what walks really look like it looks so wierd!)
Thanks for taking the time to crit and for the praise!

Horse walks ARE indeed wierd. I've known that since my animal Life Drawing Classes. (BTW: That class was the best class I ever took.)
No problem Astro. Glad you took my critique to heart. =-3

I have been spending *ages* shopping around for Unicorn art for a tattoo. Yours is definately a favorite. I do want to know your permission on this before I let myself fall totally in love....
It's bigger than the busts I have been looking at... *scary* but I adore it!!!!!

Yes, that's no problem if you wanted to base your tattoo on it. It's always a high honour when someone holds my art in such high regard Thanks for asking first too, it's always appreciated :hug*

Yes I think the cherry trees are a great touch! the only thing that still looks odd to me is that front-most hoof, it looks a little twisted to me since we're seeing the top of it, and not the side. - Other than that though I love this, and it looks even better with the tweaks you've made

^^ Yup, I've altered that hoof now as it was bugging me too! Glad the trees look good at it took ages to ink then I covered most of it up! *d'ho!*

that's better!
And yes the trees are subtle, but they really help to break that background up

I'm sorry, this is going to be far from a short comment but yes, I do agree with you on the horse vs traditional unicorn type. I usually straddle the divide when I draw unicorns (they look semi-horse like with cloven hoves, spiral horns, and lion tails). I often have the problem with looking at some of the pictures of unicorns around is that they happen to be horses with a horn photoshopped on or a horse with a horn on it's forehead. I think the reason why that gets more traction nowadays because it's easy to render, even if it's hard to draw a horse. Not many people draw the other kinds of unicorns like champors, karkadans, or kirrins.
I find this unicorn to be beautiful and graceful, and the mane flows and the little details like the flowers add a bit of class to it.

Wow, this is beautiful I like the classic way it's drawn, and the fragile look. It looks so ethereal.

THere is something so elegant and wonderful about this p iece! I quite adore it. You've really made me want to draw one myself.
I think i have an image like this in my room, now that I think about it. Not like THIS of course. I mean classic unicorn.

I love these more mythical looking unicorns, and this is a fine example. - though why keep the beards to the guys I say? Nanny goats (females) have beards afterall! lol not particularly beautiful and fetching though, I understand
- a lovely illustration!

yuppers, the girlies need beards too but people then assume it's male *darn gender recognition programming!* More Unicorn's should have beards XD

Beautiful! I agree! The traditional style for Unicorns is much lovelier.
This is so beautiful. It looks so graceful and I love the swirly hair! Wonderful job!
