hi all!!! this is my very first closed species!! (ive been reading them as custom species so that too lmao) but ive been very excited to share them!!

i'll be posting the first ever lechrit adopts as AUCTIONS here in a bit!!!

this is very basic ofc, but if you have any questions feel free to ask me! the da group for these children is here lechrit-forest , and i'll be working on getting out refs for our lovely mascots!

here is some basic lore info and some other tidbits

Lechrits (lechen + lich + spirit) pronounced lech (similar to ledge) and rit (like a ritz cracker)
are nature spirits created by celestial space beings. The first Lechrits used to be human! however, upon death their spirits were reached out to by a figure with stars in their hair and eyes, and they were granted another chance at life and immortality. these new spirit beings were kind and grateful, but the immortality got to their heads and made them realize they could do whatever they wanted with no consequences. this led to them causing much, much trouble for humanity. the celestial beings that created them realized how awful this was, and ripped the immortality from the spirit beings, and spliced them with predatory animals to keep them alive, but to also serve as a punishment, and a reflection of their inner core.

they bound those spirits to the forest, forever destining them to protect their prison, or die.

eventually these beings decided to name themselves, sort of as an offhand, to accept their identities and cope with what they've done. later on they decided it was getting lonely, and they sought out their celestial friends for assistance in creating new lechrits.

some say, the first lechrits are still out there.... and some even believe the celestials are as well. perhaps. but of course, that's just a story for children, isn't it?

due to the trouble the first lechrits created for humans, there was a lot of strife and unease between the two species for a long time. only recently have lechrits and humans begun a harmony.

lechrits have no physical genders! some lechrits have breasts due to their original human roots, but this doesnt really determine anything. it's a ken doll situation down there.
gender's actually not a big play for lechrits. they have no gender dictation or social construct beyond what pronouns the lechrit themself feels fitting to them.

lechrit children are born from sort of an egg! the core of a lechrit is created by two parents, and is kept in very good care. the child's spirit/magic would form around the core before long.
lechrits can have children with other species! children are spawned willingly by magic from lechrits, and all the other species would need to provide is. er. some kind of dna. it's a team effort.
hybrid children are actually born via pregnancy. this is awkward for most lechrits, but they tend to carry anyway. it causes magic overflow due to having an extra core, and a pregnant lechrit should be very very very careful!! they get sick very easily and are not cut out for any spells.

lechrit heights have a wide range of variety! it mostly depends on one's animal trait, but typically they're about as big as humans if not a bit bigger!

lechrits do not have to live in forests!!! some live at beaches, or deserts, in the mountains etc. but this is usually going to relate to their animal trait somehow! (ie: a desert lechrit living would probably be a reptile, a mountain living lechrit would be a snow-adapted mammal or eagle etc.) this doesnt mean you wont find other types of lechrit in these places, its just most common for certain animal traits.
lechrits however have to be around some sort of nature most of their lives! they will get very very sick if they are not around nature within a week or so. you could kill a lechrit by locking it away.

they have beans. (this is important)
