We are drawn to each other. To pull.
We repulse each other. To push.

ideation + process:
Although I've drawn many sketches of these 2, I've never quite properly showed them yet. And even now with this post, that still holds true. I wanted these two to fall upon a mysterious world that they were not born into, like stars that fell from the sky and lost on their purpose. Each of these 2's actions have consequences that they will not forsee, shifting the world they fell upon, and being thrusted responsibility they never asked for.

A lot of ideas I have usually make me feel so upset with how slow I am to convey and materialize them because - more often than not - there is almost always some sort of franchise, product, or something that announces a very similar idea or design and I get all pouty like an idiot because I don't want to come off as if I'm immediately copying those recent releases from others. And I know every idea is derivative of something and nothing is purely original, but the timing is always so coincidental in my case lol. Because of this however, I either leave these ideas in the sketchdump or stay in the oven forever to make them feel more personal.

I planned on making Jonathan have an arm that was cursed (and still intend to do) to signify a struggle of a greater force upon him, parallel to that of Princess Mononoke and Ashitaka's arm. But I think there were just a lot of popular creations that just recently expressed that idea a lot and as I said, I didn't want it to come off as if I was copying what was recent or popular. I believe even the new Zelda game that came out called "Tears of the Kingdom" has something similar in terms of the design for Link. Not sure if they share the same purpose but still. I even concepted similar clothing for these 2 that looked really similar to the game. I just have to get over this dumb issue I have, get to work and start posting more often.
