Description
I first worked on the girl which is something I hardly ever do I always have both the focus and the background before I begin my airbrushing so I went though 8 different backgrounds about 10 different ways before I got fed up and found this beautiful stock submission from ~dreamstock the colour fitted perfectly. and the beautiful cinderella is *lockstockThe Cinderella story - what I think was the true story
The family was very rich being distant relatives of the crown unfortunately Cinderellas father did die when she was but 5yrs old and left his daughter half his lands as a dowry. Her stepmother had always hated the girl for her inheritance and connections her two daughters also pretty absconded Cinderella for her beauty and thus turned her into a maid so she could not marry a young lord and take her share of the wealth. It wasn't until the Prince's ball when cinderellas aunt who lived on the outskirts of the kingdom came to stay. She was a lady of esteem and come to participate in the celebrations and was outraged at how her only niece had been brought up. However she could not do anything, she was a guest in the house of her late brother who held a higher title which was passed on to Cinderellas stepmother. So being devious and knowing the court would not let a beautiful young lady escape their attention she began to secretly plan that Cinderella would attend the ball and thus being introduced into the court as her fathers daughter giving her the status so long denied her. Her aunt had a dress secretly made of soft purple. The purple would turn the royal family's attention to her niece as purple could only be worn by those who had a blood connection to the royal line. Cinderella would be a maid no longer. Her aunt left her the dress and carriage and strict instructions to leave after her stepmother as only the most important guests arrive last.
This is a picture of Cinderella before she enters the ball and admiring the finery of the castel for the first time.

Gorgeous work, and I love the story. Did you come up with it, or was it a version you read or watched somewhere? I've always been dissatisfied with the Cinderella story myself, and a lot of my stories are different versions of it.

I love not only how gorgeous and how absolutely stunning the picture is, but your version of the story too, especially about the royal connections through the purple material

Wow, I love the Cinderella story, but I do think that Disney messed it up. The old story's with the the three gifts is the best.

Yes!
Go to a Library and look up Grimmi's Fairy Tales by Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm. The Cinderella story is in there by the name of Aschenputtel, or go here [link] age=2 and watch a YouTube Video of Three Gifts for Cinderella. I just Love it.
PS: The Video is no. 1 out of 7 so ya. But it is SO worth it.

wow, it's a great piece of work man.. just one little thing.. I know you said you worked so hard in the colors and stuff but... Cinderella's dress is blue :s not lavander or purple. [I recently made a Cinderella manip and wondered if there was any similiar to mine but haven't found any like mine so far... it's my latest deviation if u wanna see it]
Still, I liked you Cinderella hehe.

The pic is beautiful. I love her dress. The story was great! I was always wondering if someone had twisted the true story since it first was talked about 200 yeahs ago. I like the way you made it "real" but it's still got that happy ending. Good job.

Such a great way to tell the story, honestly....I wish I were as creative. But, I do not think I have an imagination...My friends say other. Hehe, jeeze...^^ The dress is really pretty. The only thing that I do not like about it is the way her hair looks...It looks like a wig, sorta...No, no..Not a wig..Umm...It just doesn't look real, it's too perfect!!! O_O Ahhh!! But I do like it...<<;..It just looks too perfect...Haha..I'm silly. Sorry! ^^

the contrast between cinderella and the castle's stairs makes it like a movie.
Magnificent job!
also it is very interesting to know the historics behind the fairy tale.

Two things. First: I want that dress. *my favorite color is purple.*
Second: I'm going to second the motion for the hair. It's a little bit too chunky. It kinda looks like thin dread locks. There are some pretty good hair 'brushes' in the resources section, if you can figure out how to use them. *I haven't yet, but I'm too lazy to try and draw hair in by hand...so I'm going to figure it out eventually.* Anyways. Great work!

the other is a smoother dress and maybe a different background

the texture and folds on her dress are so.....accurate o.o!
looks so soft and poofy, like my blanket 8D
Everything is just beautiful, but her hair looks very unrealistic compared to the rest of her.
