Another pendant made with cuttlebone casting ([link] ). Someone told me this looked like a topographical map, hence the title.Carved freehand, taking advantage of a natural pattern in the cuttlebone. Cast in pewter.

Wow, that is really beautiful. How did you get the cuttlefish structure to stay like that? It would look great if you patinated it

I carved into it very, very carefully to make sure I didn't ruin the grain. When it looked deep enough to cast, I just left it be.
And it would look good with a patina, but it's pewter, and the way pewter melts... No fire ever again. XD
