Oh, FINALLY something else from the books! and something from the 100th episode too!

Pug is one of two ex-LMS tank engines who once visited the North Western Railway on loan from British Railways, along with Jinty, is friends of Percy. Along with Jinty and five other engines, were loaned by British Railways to run the NWR while Sir Topham Hatt's engines visited the Mainland. While JInty ran Thomas' Branchline, it can be assumed Pug did Percy's work. ("The fat Controller's Engines"/"Thomas and the special letter")

Not much is known about Pug's personality, though - like Jinty - Pug appears to be friendly and polite, having whistled cheerfully to Percy, Thomas and Toby upon arrival.
