Considerations:-Dalmasca is hot (ie dress for the heat)
-She needs to be able to move
-She's a princess
-She means business
My problem with Ashe's current outfit has to do with decency. I don't mind showing skin so long as it's tasteful and the character still can move. While I agree that her high-slit booty skirt does allow for mad mobility, she can't do anything without flashing someone! Hence the hotpants-chaps things. I dunno. Originally they were a lot more risquΓ© (no shorts, just half-pants all the way down), but then it looked like armor-babe-lingerie.
I skimmed down her top a lot because her current outfit also makes her look very hippy. She still has largish hips in this picture, but at least it's a little more balanced. I also raised the top's top hem (you know what I mean) because the one she has now, the gold bit is the only thing covering her nipples. Double-sided tape or something has to be involved. Seriously, imagine her jumping in front of the boys.

I like my distraught chibi Vossler running after her. I sort of threw him in as an afterthought because as I finished this picture, I realized that she's actually more exposed than in her previous outfit. But, BUT...she can sit down without embarrassment! Whoo!

Awesome design. I was wondering wth was up with the black thingy. And mini-skirts are a no-go in an adventure like FFXII. X3 I'd almost rather wear what Fran wears rather than Ashe's outfit. Or maybe Ashe's outfit with Fran's shoes...Oh! Oh! Blathier's pants with Ashe's top and Fran's shoes.

I really love your redesign. I always thought it was odd for a recently widowed/orphaned princess to be wearing that outfit. I'm also really glad you got rid of that mid-stomach...thing. pointless and doubtless uncomfortable.

I don't even care if it's one of them skirt-short dealies. I don't mind girls flaunting it if they've got it, but a little taste please! Modesty is a virtue, and I think guys appreciate it more if they can't get it all the time. It's like unwrapping a present that is--and should be--just for them.

ah... i was trinna compliment the pic i really wasnt trinna read to much intothe whole class thing but to be honest i really dont care about this fictisous character.it more of the slimming of the hips comment lol . i love my mommas and chicas wit there hips its beautiful , even thou i always have other culture tell me diffrent .and i AGREE a womans class is definetly important.Ashe's outfite..is resque and definetly pushes hot buttons but i always have felt square definetly has always been about class and quality i whould be honored to work for such a company and i think ashe rocks mini-skirt or not she still seems like a true lady(girl power and beauty) later

Ha, what a great redesign! Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks miniskirts and barely-there bra/shirts aren't the greatest thing for swordfighting and ruling a country in. I really like the look of the redeisgn, especially the detail on her chap/shorts; it's great!
The little Vossler makes it that much more entertaining.

Oh, FFXII is teh r0xxors. The environments are beautifully detailed (I love 360 rotation! Oh my god, it's gorgeous!), the storyline is compelling, and the characters are fun too. Balthier and Fran are far and away my favorites, mostly because she's Moneypenny (or Bunny) to his James Bond. Eeek! They're adorable.
And I'm glad you like the redesign! I've been admiring yours forever, so to get a favorable comment from you is, like, WHOA.
