Impact

This is very interesting, however your framing could be better. In art, (if you do not know, sorry if you do) there is a way to "frame" your work so that the eyes can smoothly travel throughout your painting and recenter to your point of interest. this helps with impact. If my character is running I will want my audience's eyes to follow their actions in the direction they are running. This impacts the audience and they feel in the moment with the character. Get my drift?
my eyes look at your point of interest (truck) follow the edge building, and get lost in the sky. there is nothing to really bring my eye back to your point of interest.
Is the sky Photoshop? It appears to be very fake, like their are two skies mixed together. I find myself more distracted by the sky because it looks so strange. your truck gets a lot less attention because of the sky. if it is not Photoshop, you may want to consider using it to do some touch ups.
It is a fine photo and I enjoy the mountains in the back. it makes this scene feel like it has been lost for some time.
excellent work, well done overall. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Thank you so much for the critique. I was using my iPod and an APP on my iPOD when I took this photo. I am just amateur and have much to learn. I asked my friend to help out with the HDR and he tells me it was difficult since it was coming from the iPOD, etc etc.
I have much to learn and you have given me much to think about. I will eventually get a good camera and hopefully get better as I go. I did not know about "framing". So thank you for the explanation. The clouds were real, but with the application I used on my iPOD I am sure it didn't help. Plus I was holding it and not using a tripod for steadiness. I still don't know how to use photoshop and I plan on taking a college course to help me learn.
ONce again, thank you.

Yw! I can see you have an eye for this stuff, and that is pretty good considering that was an I-pod shot. I would suggest an Olympus E-volt. It is a very good camera.
good luck with those classes, I am sure you will learn a lot!
I'm glad to be of assistance!
The "framing" will come natural to you after a while. try observing other photographer's photos. they wont all have flow, but the one that do are pleasing to the eye. (Discovery magazine has some good ones)
Good luck i cant wait to see more photos.

thank you so much. I have always loved taking pictures even as a little girl.
So I appreciate your words of advice.
I have so much to learn.
I want to go slow and steady, so I wont get overwhelmed.

Yes, my passion was drawing with a nice sharp #2 pencil and a huge eraser!!! LOL
I loved drawing horses the most!!
I still also have my 1987 Minolta Camera with all the bells and whistles! It is like a dinosaur now.
I feel like I am at an end with the selection of photos that I can take recently as I live in the desert and I can only take so many desert pictures. I want to see greenness again and especially water!! I love nature the most. Most all my photos don't include people. I want to be close to nature. I deal with people all day long and I long for peace and serenity!! '

I have ones shaped like animals, food, and vehicles XD I like using mechanical pencils but lately i have been messing with my tablet. I can't Β color worth a crap XD I watch a bunch of Photoshop tutorials on coloring so i can figure it out but I am still kinda lazy XD Β horses are tough, i love them for their power bodies. 1987 minolta? sounds amazing but it may be time to ugrade XD i love nature as well, and enjoy hiking.
