This is an entry into the Cavitto mini monthly challenge. I was going to add someone else's cavvie in as well, but with how fast *cough*likemolasses*cough* I've been putting out actual rpg art, I figured I'd just finish this with a single cavitto and just do some surprise art for the other person as I got around to it.
This is also a 'Thank You' to PolarisAstrum for putting up with me around the group. I always seem to forget something, be it some info, or a marking, or counting up wrong or just being a dummy and designing when I'm half asleep.
I choseΒ 1104 Better Than Gold because a) She's a pretty, b) Better practice them wings and c) I wanted to do someone who was more in the background then some of your other lovelies seem to be, at least popularity wise.
Cell shading ... Still not a fan.

I also admire you for taking on the cell shading challenge! I've tried several times and I simply... can't. It always ends up with me getting frustrated beyond belief lol. But you did a great work with it, I think (:
Also, thank you for drawing this girl in particular c: I'm a bit guilty of "neglecting" her since she's one of my Cavittos on the highest levels along with Amara, and so I tend to lean more towards the other guys with less points. I really -really- love her though, and when I saw this, I immediately wanted to start working on her new reference, which is all lined up now and ready to be colored!

Lol true enough, but I guess from my side of things it seems like everytime I forget something stupid so... xD
I'm glad you like her. I regret I didn't do something more elaborate and detailed, but at least I didn't butcher the cell shading (As I usually do.><) Trust me... I get irritated with it as well. For something so simple, it's incredibly tedious to do in great detail and I don't plan on making it a habit anytime soon.

Very true! I think it's the "keep it simple" part that gets me. I like to detail, so when I try cell shading, I always feel like something is missing, and since I'm just starting out going overly detailed means I ruin everything because I don't have enough practice >_> And then I never try again because I feel useless xD
Heh, well, at least she has a pretty new reference now that I love much more than the old one, so I don't feel as guilty about neglecting her c:

Lol xD it's something I've been -attempting- to coach myself on, because like you, I like to have detail. But sometimes a simple impression is better than an overly detailed work. I guess we just have to learn how to 'know' when to use either. If that makes sense. xD

little tip for cell shading: dark blue and purple stand out a little more for shadows (and will work on any coat except pure, 00000 black), and gold always shows up over white and pretty much everything for highlights

I did use a dark blue for the shading, but I didn't like the way it looked both as itself and under the filters that people suggest using for cell shading so I changed it to something I like the look of a little more.
