Well I got it in the mail today, framed it, and gave it to them TODAY! Josh and I couldn't wait! (their anniversary is on the 15th actually) we even had a card to go with it, but forgot totally about the card because we were so excited about the picture!
Cathy loved it, she was in a bad mood when she got home from work, and this seemed to brighten her day. Steve on the other hand doesn't convey his emotions and so just hugged me and thanked me. He also got a brand new easy chair with heat and vibration and didnt' seem excited about that either... silly men who hide their emotions! haha.
I think the funniest thing Cathy said is, "it's so weird to look at yourself in cartoon" At first I'm thinking, SHEESH it's not a CARTOON ITS A PORTRAIT! but then I realized... oh yeah, she's not an artist! hahaha. I know she loves it... the true test will be when Cara comes over.... will she make sure to show it to her? I'm not sure if she's going to hang it in their bedroom or in the living room yet... right now it's proped up on the chair in the living room where there is the most light.
I'll take a picture of it and send it to you as soon as I can. Later on I'm going to get it professionally matted and framed, or just go to Wal*Mart and buy the 20 dollar frame with a mat in it. Just depends. Right now it's just in black wood frame. Looks good, but I think they look better matted.
In any case I am oooooberly excited. It's so much better in real life, all the different tones and shades.
And keep an eye out in the mail..... something will be showing up sometime soon. (depending on when I go to the post office. We have a box at the end of the drive way, so when I need to ship something I have to drive all the way to town. Such drudgery! hahaha)

*grin* aww you're sweet, thank you! The curls were the idea of the lady who is buying this; we couldn't figure out a lot of detail on the right side of her face (the reference photo is so dark there) and so she said, "Can you put some hair there" and so I did! ^__^
