Sometimes, he can't sleep. Sometimes, like on missions, he lies there, curled on his side like Sasuke's curled up, watching the back of his teammate. Sometimes, he watches, as Sasuke makes a sound that's almost a word but not, as he twitches and curls tighter and hides his face.but only sometimes, when Sasuke actually lets himself sleep deep enough for dreams, Naruto creeps close enough to listen to the hitch in his breath. Sometimes, he catalogues the way Sasuke seems thin and delicate and almost fragile--but then he remembers that Sasuke is more like woven steel and wire and black glass.
Then sometimes, when Sasuke falls too deep for just rest and dreams whatever it is that makes him shiver, Naruto kicks him, and hisses"Stop snoring bastard," because it's all he can do not to grab hold of him and shake him awake.
Sometimes, it's all he can do and Naruto's fine with that, he's fine with watching over the Sasuke-ball under the blankets, watching for unwanted dreams, because he knows how it hurts when no one is there to wake you from them.
omg, there's actually a story behind this...XD or, at least, a story in my head for this picture. hmm. i should write out the full version...it's lots more pretty and angsty and
a lot more smexy.....but damn, isn't that tight? i can't believe i drew that at one in the morning....yeah....you like?

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the story, which is a reason I came lookin' for this picture. You're an amazing artist along with author. ^^ I really like how you make this pose look so natural. (I also like the design on the pillow cases. ^^)

That is so cute. Seriously. I read the story ages ago and recently stumbled across it; it's one of my favorites, and I adore the picture too. Poor, poor Sasuke. At least he has Naruto to balance out his angst with an over-abundance of energy.

The picture as a whole is wonderful, but it's the little details that drew me in. What makes this piece different is the small, original touches - the spread of the hair, the furrowed eyebrow, and (most definitely) the Uchiha-fan print along the pillows. Very nice.

The fetal position makes his cuteness stand up and slap you in the face. *giggles* I also love his hair, you put so much detail into it (and the whole piece really). The creases you put in the sheets/pillow/shorts are so realistic. And I applaud your anatomy. Bravo!
...Erm, kuro-musouka mentioned those ankle scars? Yeah, those reminded me of ...Ripple Effect was it? <.<; >.>;
I don't remember quite what it was called; but it was some fic where, when Sasuke gets bitten he develops a scar that never fades and that is where he summons snakes from. :'P
Like, Orochimaru must've been bitten by a summoned snake on his arm and thus, that is where he summons them from. o_o;; Whatever, I must be on something, seriously. ._.

I've hated their review system and I usually only ever review on peoples ljs, and even those are few and far between so... I loved the picture intially, I loved how life-like it was(Cause I mostly fall asleep in that position too), but once I read the little story you had with it... it blew me away. I loved the last lines SO MUCH, it contained so much emotion.

yes, sorry to double comment, but i know what it is.... the scar on his shoulder, where itachi hit him with the ninja star... he threw it at him when sasuke came in to find his dead parents on the floor, and was going to go to Itachi. it hit his shoulder and got stuck in the wood behind him. bwaha. (sorry, i said kunai in the journal comment XD oops) but yes. victory! XDD
