I don't debate. Different realms, different rules, different laws of physics.
Here's what I mean:
A sonic boom does not happen at Mach 5. It happens at Mach 1. Perhaps Equestria having different physics just cause that "Mach Cone" to appear around Dash. But then again, she pulled it off later while ascending in the Season 2 Finale, so maybe going that speed is not a problem for her and she can easily move past that. So that physics brony's presentation is incorrect [i]and[/i] outdated.
With Sonic, well, his top speed has never been recorded. He often just goofs off until things get serious, then he leaves his competition in the dust. In the Archie comics he once ran halfway around Mobius (which is roughly the size of Earth) in five seconds. No, really. (brb math) Sonic ran at (approximately) Mach 11,000. Some dismiss that as non-canon, however.
In short, their physical capabilities are not set in stone. Saying one is faster than the other is a claim that cannot be supported by anything. I just settle for "they're both fast lol" and leave it at that.
Besides, I find it kind of adorable when people SHIP Sonic & Dash. xD I must find more of this. It's hilarious and awkward and omg they are so cute together I don't even.

there is really no contest i mean seriously everyone knows that sonic will win first of all, he was first,he can go super sonic and dark,and what can rainbow dash do just a sonic boom so you know of coarse sonic would win

reason why i think sonic would win is because...well......rainbow dash isnt the only one who can do a sonic boom :3 not only that but if it comes down to it sonic can always resort to the light speed attack move :3.
