Palette:

"The chocolate cake was round, cut evenly into thick wedges and still warm from the oven. Dark chocolate topping had been slathered generously over each slice, a small swirl of cream on the very edge holding a deep red strawberry in place. More or less embedded in the topping was chopped roasted nuts, placed on the side and lower half of each slice. The cake itself consisted of three layers: two layers of rich chocolate cake that would melt in the mouth of whoever ate it, separated by a thin layer of blueberry jam, homemade and free of chemical preservatives found in store-bought jams."
