Hi kiddies! Here's the last of the long and tall paintings, but I got a big new pile of scrap wood from a customer the other day, so it probably won't be the last!

My normal 9 to 5 job has me stopping at a lot of cabinet shops. Cabinet shops, of course, always have large caches of scrap wood that will eventually end up in their dumpster, so occasionally I'll ask the guys if I can liberate some of the good pieces for myself. This piece was done on one of four panels of long scrap wood that I had laying around for a while and finally decided to do something with!

These little buggy guys had been sitting in my sketchbook waiting for the coach to put them in, so I decided to give them a chance! In the original sketch, the top bug was actually holding a very long caped Darth Vader! I decided to change it up a bit instead and reserve Vader for an as yet to be determined painting. And then I just threw in the birthday cake because the two on the bottom were bored and hungry.
