Just a little doodle I whipped up today so I could mess aroind with my brush pen! I got back into comics in the early 90s after a long hiatus, right when Image was cranking up. Spawn and the Maxx were the two that got me back to reading comics, but I have all but abandoned the Superhero genre now. I still read a few titles, like Hellblazer, Hellboy, anything by Neil Gaiman or Dave Cooper, and a few others here and there. I just started reading the comic version of Stephen King's Dark Tower series and am really pleased with their choice of artists for it. As for the comics industry...
The Civil War series was actually pretty good. It's getting disheartening that almost all the big hero comics are done in that realistic, celebrity referenced style these days. I *love* exaggeration, not this stuff that looks like someone took a bunch of photos and traced 'em! >=[ The Ultimates was a good series too, but done in that same style. I know you've seen the Sam Jackson character on a few fronts.

I know there's a few good ones out there, but I'm also aware that the reason they do things like Civil War is to try and make you have to start reading more of their other titles and I ain't falling for their trickery again!

Oh, they totally try to loop you into buying the books outside of the main storyline, so that you're "filled in" on missing info. It was pretty lame how they did that, for every character in the got damn marvel universe. Well ok, maybe not every one of them. But pretty much all of them in rotation!
We refused to buy into that ploy though. Mmm hmm.

I'm somewhat surprised that Spawn doesn't have a legion of fangirls for him yet. If they go nuts for Predator, Aliens and Donatello (TMNT) then why not Spawn? The again unlike Spawn those 3 mentioned don't punch their pregnant wifes in the guts.
