Description
Just a little doodle I whipped up today so I could mess aroind with my brush pen! I got back into comics in the early 90s after a long hiatus, right when Image was cranking up. Spawn and the Maxx were the two that got me back to reading comics, but I have all but abandoned the Superhero genre now. I still read a few titles, like Hellblazer, Hellboy, anything by Neil Gaiman or Dave Cooper, and a few others here and there. I just started reading the comic version of Stephen King's Dark Tower series and am really pleased with their choice of artists for it. Check it out if you haven't done so!Spawn is owned by Todd Mc Farlane

Haha, thats awesome.
I love the Maxx, I just finished collecting all the trades. Sam Keith is my hero. And Zero Girl is his best thing ever.

Sam Keith is probably the most un-comic booky artist ever that actually did a comic book. He's awesome!

Always loved Spawn. Great comic, lousy movie. Nice take on the burnt one...

the cartoon series wasn't too bad, but needed much more action. MUCH more. Thanks Chris!

Oh yes I forgot about the cartoon, that wasn't bad at all, I even thought some elements of the movie worked, but too many didn't. There were talks of a sequel at one time but I completely feel out of Spawn, so I am not sure what's going on. In desperate times I sold my #1-95 comic collection in one bundle on ebay, and really didn't come out ahead. Being the dork I am I had some toys too, sold all that stuff.

I haven't followed Spawn in years either, but always thought he was a cool looking character. I've been thinking of selling some of my old comics on Ebay. I've got two trunks at my folks house, plus a few bookcases here, all full of comics from the 80s and 90s. I was wondering how I'd fare on Ebay with those. Should I even bother? I talked with a guy at the biggest and best comic shop in Atlanta about buying back issues and he said they didn't want them, try the internet.
And there were some things in the Spawn movie that worked, but it should have been much darker. The cape looked too shiny and the Violator in human form was too cheesy. Most of the time he didn't have his cowl or collar or wahtever or his cape on and that's the coolest part of the costume!

Ebay is funny. Some things do great some things do terrible. The best thing to do is catalog what you have and check the completed auctions to see what it got. I do alot of selling on there for my mom, who has been selling her head vase collection. Some do great, $400+, and some do shit....it all depends on what specific item you have and if it's hard to get or not.
I thought the Violator clown was rediculous in that movie, but it could be because I hate that actor John Leguizamo, that guy is just a beating. The cape was cool in parts when he morphed into it, but not enough of it and there should have been more shooting chains. The old guy was disappointing too. Can't think of his name...his guardian. They needed a Gandalf type, but he just looked like a bum outside of a bar.

Yeah, I can't stand Leguizamo either. He annoys the shit outta me.

He's not writing it, but he's a consultant on it. I only have the first issue so far but it's beautiful and left me hankering for more. One of the writers is a lady who was his assistant on the Dark Tower books. Whenever he needed something for continuity sake, he called her and would ask, for example, "what's in Jake's backpack?" She'd go back through the books, see what he initially had in the backpack, what had been taken out and what had been added up to that point. She knows those books backwards and forwards. Check it out! I never read V but I liked the movie a lot.
Thanks for the fave Doc!

I will definately have to look for it, especially since it's going accurate. Now is this the comic the news said he's working on or is that another one? I'm checking them out either way.

Eh, I'm not sure. I've been messing around with them here and there for the past few months, but so far I still prefer the control of a regular pen. I have bought some quills that I plan on experimenting with, but I don't like the idea of having an open inkwell that I have to keep dipping into. Seems like a recipe for a floorstain.
