Riku and Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts II
Well. Whew.
Riku fighting Xemnas at the end of the game.
Notice that Riku's also wielding Soras Keyblade, so Sora probably got hit. Riku for the rescue!!
Sketching their hair was the most entertaining thing I've done for a long time. Colouring them was pure pain.
And the background... Well, lets just say I didn't sketch it at all and I had to finish Xemnas off again, just to take a look at the background in the game.

This is really amazing. A lot of detail and the pale colors give it an underlying intensity.
Riku's one pupil (his left, but the viewer's right) It's not the right... size, shape angle... I'm not sure, it looks a little funky.

Any type of paper or whatever you recommend for using them?

I use watercolour paper. Weight of the paper you should use depends on the technique you're using. If you use a lot of water gouache is similar to watercolour but I still think the chalk pigment needs a bit heavier paper than that of watercolour's. And if you're using very covering tecnique like I used in that picture the paper needs to be heavy. 250-300 gram per square meter or so.
I use that 300 for both my watercolours and gouaches.

Let me explain the characters in this picture.
The one with... uh, no face showing is Xemnas, the main antagonist of the game. And the one with his face showing is Riku, an important side character and kind of protagonist, but not main protagonist, Sora is. : 3
