i spent a good 7 hours just fixing up this piece, the background was pure crap, and the proportions were awful.
BUT NOW THEY'RE OKAY!
wow, i'm so surprised to see that i've improved in just a year, it makes me excited
I'm now making this into prints, YAY i like this picture again.

So anyone who doesn't think markers are God's gift to earth is super lame. Markers are the best art invention since cave-man-berry-paint.
This is a little thank you to yall for giving me 10K views, omg thats so many! It's Roxas and Sora shopping, they had to go pick up some food, snacks, and beer for the party at Riku's, and Axel just sent Roxas a very ridiculous test message.
Roxas and Sora are brothers in my minds, but i guess you can make up your own story for this picture :3
oooh, and cyberspace cookie for who can name the 9 major people in the background, they're all from a final fantasy, one of them is kinda canon, kinda not.

This piece has been in my favorites for a while and I still vividly recall it. The colors you chose your unique art style has made this one of my favorite pieces on Deviant Art due to its richness and different take on Sora and Roxas. Both are some of my favorite characters and they've been drawn many a time but I have never seen someone draw them like this before you or since and it has been a while. The references to the other Square Enix characters is quite fun since you also made a Where's Waldo game with the background of this picture. Fantastic job and I really look forward to the pictures you make, they are one of a kind art!

Let me start off by saying I really like the colors in this piece. They are bright and colorful and draw in attention, so great work; I know markers are a hard media to work with.
Now on the the critique.
First off not to be harsh but the anatomy is pretty off. Roxas and Sora's (I hope I'm correct) bodys look like they are broken. It's mostly Roxas' body, I mean in real life it would be a pretty hard pose to hold right? So it may appear a bit awkward to some viewers; do you know what I mean?
The people in the background look really nice, I know it is often hard to pull of backgrounds, so just make sure you keep in mind the perspective of the people (closer vs. farther away).
Overall nice work, keep it up.

I love the overall composition and admire your crisp, lovely coloring. The folds in the clothes take my breath away along with the attention to detail for everything in the picture. To be honest though,the body proportions are off. The human anatomy is one of the hardest things to draw, believe me, I know. Just go look at my awful sketches on my deviantart. But both of the guys in this picture have torsos that are too enlongated. Along with that, the blonde guy's hair is too fluffy. It's very handsome, yet makes his head look too tiny for the rest of his body. Your perspective drawing could use some studying too. Besides that, great job!!!

this is purely awesome! i really don't have a hard time finding out what could be wrong (however, critique doesn't always mean you've done something wrong lol) now, yes...the background does need some work. but that comes with practice. and i've noticed that Roxas's phone says Axel. now, i don't want to be anal, but shouldn't it be upside down? normally, it's would be, that way, when you look at your phone, you can see who's calling you. but, onto the good things!
the coloring is just amazing. you really have a good eye for bringing colors together. you can tell that there is a lot going on, but it's very easy to look at. something that can be very complicated to do! the clothing design is just awesome! Roxas really has a great style going on! but *in my opinion* Roxas would look bad *ss with a beanie! just saying though! lol

say, what do you mean when you say the bg needs work? could you point out what things need fixing? i tried fixing it up myself as best i can, but being the artist, i always miss things xD

well, the only thing that i think that needs improvement is where you place the horizon line. notice: the cab is draw well, but if sora and roxas were to walk to the cab, they would be much bigger than it. things like this

Roxas and Sora are all kinds of adorable, I especially love Sora's hat. And his grin. (Genius that I am, I totally did not read the description and wondered where Axel and Riku are, till I saw that Axel is calling Roxy. Explains his cute expression.) Probably silently laughing about the way Axel and Roxas are dancing around each other even though they are so obviously in love. Though he shouldn't talk until he talks to Riku, right?
