Description
Addiction SketchHad some time to squeeze in this little fast drawing
It represents the rat race that we all are participating in. Everyone wants more likes and followers , everyone wants to be somebody and have other people follow them. Its addictive , and its a rush to get a lot of likes ( im sure most of the people have had that feeling at least once ) The more likes you get the more likes you strive for . There is an ever empty hole that gets bigger and bigger with each post we share.
I see young artist here trying to get noticed and doing things that hurts their progress. They do it almost for all the wrong reasons . Art is something people should enjoy doing , and they should not be doing art because it will get them more likes. Im almost a bit of a hypocrite here - because i did the exact same things , my point here is that i realize how these things work now and i enjoy riding the wave - far to many other get burned out on the way to success.
Work more for your self and the progress you get. dont let the main focus be how many followers or likes you get.

Although I get what you're saying, and somewhere I believe you're right. I also believe there is a big difference in trying to market yourself to become a professional artist and simply trying to gain random fame. Frankly I feel a lot, if not all artist have something to say about other artists that have a different workflow or taste. For example I have issues enjoying photo realism. I prefer a more free/ artistic signature on realistic drawings/paintings. And disapprove of some artist literally whoring their works with nsfw's. But that is a personal preference not a set in stone fact I'm stating. I think it is easy to judge others and even more so the more technical skill you obtain. It is hard to forget that not everyone does it simply only for the likes.. I believe that actually mostly comes once you already have proven yourself a valuable artist (with some exceptions ofc but I also do believe those exceptions only obtain fame for a very short amount of time and not really worth my jealousy of their fame) that being said, love the capturing of the expressions here!

I don't know, though. I think sometimes the only way to really learn a lesson is to go through it. It's like, if you don't go through a phase then you won't fully understand. You'd just be living based on following others good advice and not truly know for yourself.
I think maybe a lot of people just need to go through a popularity-seeking phase in some part of their lives- maybe most people- in order to actually understand why it's not necessary.
In fact, I think a popularity-seeking phase is actually a phase that we are biologically steered into, and it's the lessons we learn during that phase that enable us to grow out of it.
Cool drawing though, of course.

It's true that likes make us feel happy, but it can become an obsession for some of us. I think the same as you, but it's true that people that are not as famous as you sometimes feel down because they think they're doing wrong and that's why they don't get so many likes. The solution is search for criticism but not random favourites and enjoy your work and be satisfied with it. It's you, not others, that have to be happy with your art. Then, after failing and fall many times, you can progress. And you'll never stop rising.
Oh, and lovely pic!

Excellent work and very insightful. It's strange too isn't it; sometimes the work you like best is the one noone else notices.
Really good advice

Man that is so true what you just said.
Both about the quality of this artwork and insight, and the statement you made in the middle.

Do you use a mirror, or did you take three photos of these expressions as reference?
