Description Owl Inverted Color Pencil Drawing

On the left you can see the normal drawing and on the right the same drawing only when you invert the colors. ( negative )

This is the first time i did an inverted drawing in color. I must say its way harder and strange to do it with color. I have been working on it the last week. Its maybe not as detailed and or complex as the others but it was an nice learning experience.

Here are other inverted pencil drawings i did :

Not really sure what the point is, but it's impressive. Probably a lot of work to both invert the colors and invert the shading (which I think I've noticed myself before when playing around on the computer). Though, since you've done black and white ones before, you'd already know how to do half of it pretty well to begin with. And, if you look at an inverted reference, that would make it easier. But, it's probably still hard to do right, especially if you can't tell it's right until you're done.

Well, for what I can see, It's a apparently a way to achieve a detailed picture in a simpler way, cause tell me, who hasn't just tainted his hands in black ink or black color pencils? besides, I bet it's much more fun to do.

hm... thinking about it that way, if I drew stuff inverted, it would help get the colors as dark as I meant them to be. (though, then I might not would get the lights light enough. ^_^" That's the problem I had when I tried drawing with charcole starting with a dark canvas)
but yeah, you probably have a point there.

hm... with an eraser. I guess it started out with something kind of medium to darkish gray from rubbing the whole thing down with charcole, and then lighter areas were erased and darker areas were added with more charcole. It was for an assignment for an art class. It helped with getting stuff darker, but I still ended up afraid of adding too much contrast. It was an interesting experience, but I found charcole too messy.
I should try getting some black colored paper and white stuff to draw with, though. It could be fun and less messy.

You're amazing! I wish I had your kind of drive when I was 17, but it's never to late to learn and I adopted your draw at least one thing a day routine and hopefully within a few years I might just have talent close to yours. This piece is amazing...Like all the rest of them!
